Alfred Nicholas Cervi was an American professional basketball player and coach in the National Basketball League (NBL) and National Basketball Association (NBA). One of the strongest backcourt players of the 1940s and 1950s, he was always assigned to defend against the opposing team's best scoring threat. He earned the nickname "Digger" because of his hard-nosed style of defense. He added coaching to his duties in 1948 before retiring as a player in 1953. As a coach, he went to the NBA Finals three times, winning once.
Damone Lamar Brown is an American former professional basketball player. He is 6'9" and 212 lb, and played the forward position. After playing college basketball at Syracuse University, he was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers in the second round of the 2001 NBA draft. Throughout his NBA career he played for the 76ers, the Toronto Raptors, the New Jersey Nets and the Washington Wizards while averaging 2.8 points and 1.3 rebounds per game in 39 career games. He played seven games with the Indiana Pacers in the 2005–06 preseason.

Reilly Center, previously known as University Center, is a 5,480-seat multi-purpose arena, in St. Bonaventure, New York, United States. It is home to the St. Bonaventure University Bonnies men's and women's basketball teams. The arena opened in 1966 and is named for Carroll "Mike" Reilly, who coached both varsity football and basketball at the university.

Ricardo Maurice Patton is an American college basketball coach who most recently served as senior advisor to the head men's basketball coach at Vanderbilt University. On March 9, 2011, NIU announced that Patton would not return as their head coach for the 2011–12 season, it is unclear whether he resigned or was fired. Prior to this, he was the head coach at the University of Colorado. He was hired as head coach for the Buffaloes on March 5, 1996, just days before the Big Eight Conference Tournament. Patton guided the Buffaloes to six postseason appearances. On July 11, 2011 it was announced that Patton joined the University of Maryland Eastern Shore as an assistant coach.

The Buffalo Bulls men's basketball team represents the University at Buffalo in Buffalo, New York, United States. The team currently competes in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level as a member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) East Division. Buffalo began play in 1915 and joined the MAC in 1998. They won their first MAC East Division title in 2009, and won a third MAC East Division title in 2015 along with their first outright MAC Regular-Season championship and first MAC Tournament title to earn the program's first bid to the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. The Bulls also have six appearances in the NCAA Men's Division II Basketball Championship between 1957 and 1965 and two appearances in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT). Their head coach position was filled on March 30, 2023 when Buffalo hired Villanova associate head coach George Halcovage.
