The Mallanganee National Park is a protected national park located in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Australia. The 1,144-hectare (2,830-acre) park is located approximately 570 kilometres (350 mi) north of Sydney and can be located via Kyogle via the Bruxner Highway and the Summerland Way.
The Limpinwood Nature Reserve is a protected nature reserve that is located on the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, in eastern Australia. The reserve was gazetted in April 1963 with additions made in 1967, over former fauna and crown reserves, and further additions were made in 1988 to make the reserve to its current area of 2,646 hectares. The reserve is situated north-west of the rural locality of Limpinwood, and north of Tyalgum and defines part of the state border between New South Wales and Queensland.
The Gondwana Rainforests of Australia, formerly known as the Central Eastern Rainforest Reserves, are the most extensive area of subtropical rainforest in the world. Collectively, the rainforests are a World Heritage Site with fifty separate reserves totalling 366,500 hectares from Newcastle to Brisbane.
The Glen Nature Reserve is a protected nature reserve in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, in eastern Australia. The 2,750-hectare (6,800-acre) reserve, which was gazetted in January 1999, is situated approximately 25 kilometres (16 mi) south-east of Gloucester, off Bucketts Way.

The Boorganna Nature Reserve is a protected nature reserve located northwest of Taree on the Comboyne Plateau in New South Wales, Australia. The 396-hectare (980-acre) reserve, managed by the NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service, was gazetted in 1904 and is the second oldest nature reserve in the state. The reserve features various forest types, including stands of sub tropical rainforest of which the large rosewood, yellow carabeen and small leaf fig are particularly noteworthy. The reserve is a remnant of the former extensive rainforest on the Comboyne Plateau. The plateau was cleared between 1900 and 1925. Australian red cedar was logged in the area in the nineteenth century. Originally proposed to be part of the world heritage rainforest group. The exploration, knowledge, uses and history of this area by Indigenous Australians is not well known in the present day. Boorganna Nature Reserve was proposed, but rejected for inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage, due to being geographically isolated from other rainforests in the group.
Woomargama National Park is a national park situated 20 kilometres (12 mi) south east of Holbrook and 30 kilometres (19 mi) north east of Albury, in the South West Slopes region of southern New South Wales. Southern extremities of the park are within one kilometre of Lake Hume which is formed on the Murray River. The park extends over approximately 30 km from eastern to western boundaries and 15 km in a north to south direction. In 2006, the park covered an area of 23,577 hectares and at the same time an area of associated reserve covered 7,120 hectares. In 2010 the park alone covered 24,185 ha.
The Susan Island Nature Reserve is a protected 20-hectare (49-acre) reserve nature reserve located at the western (upstream) end of the 90ha Susan Island, a 3km long x 420m wide river island, that is located in the Clarence River, in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales in eastern Australia near the centre of Grafton. The rainforest of the nature reserve and adjoining crown land is a rare 19-hectare (47-acre) example of sub tropical lowland rainforest on floodplain, and is listed under the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Act as an Endangered Ecological Community.
The Andrew Johnston Big Scrub Nature Reserve is a protected nature reserve in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Australia. A subtropical jungle remnant of the Big Scrub, the 21-hectare (52-acre) reserve is approximately 19 kilometres (12 mi) northeast of Lismore. Far less than 1% of the original Big Scrub now remains.
The Dalrymple-Hay Nature Reserve is a protected nature reserve that is located in the northerns suburbs of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The 10.768-hectare (26.61-acre) reserve is situated in the suburb of St Ives, 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) from the Sydney central business district.
The Werakata National Park is a protected national park that is located in the Lower Hunter Region of New South Wales, in eastern Australia. The 3,337-hectare (8,250-acre) national park is located to the north, east and south of the town of Cessnock.
The Nadgee Nature Reserve is a protected nature reserve that is located in the far south coast region of New South Wales, in eastern Australia. The 20,671-hectare (51,080-acre) reserve is situated to the immediate south of Beowa National Park. Its southern border is bounded by the Black-Allan Line that marks the straight–line border between New South Wales and Victoria, where it abuts Croajingolong National Park.
The Burrinjuck Nature Reserve is a protected nature reserve on the south west slopes of New South Wales, Australia. The 5,250-hectare (13,000-acre) reserve is located adjacent to the Burrinjuck Dam, with 5,118 hectares of the reserve located on the northern side of the reservoir, and the remaining 89 hectares located on the southern side of the reservoir to the northeast of Black Andrew Nature Reserve. It includes land formerly managed as the Burrinjuck State Forest and Burrinjuck State Recreation Area.
The Kangaroo River Nature Reserve, part of the Kangaroo Valley Group of Nature Reserves, is a protected nature reserve that is located on the floor of the Kangaroo Valley in the Southern Highlands and South Coast regions of New South Wales in eastern Australia. The reserve is situated approximately 150 kilometres (93 mi) south of Sydney, 50 kilometres (31 mi) southwest of Wollongong and 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) northwest of Nowra. The reserve has a protective covenant placed upon it with purpose to ensure the protection of the natural heritage of this area. National parks in the area include the Morton National Park and the Budderoo National Park. Other nature reserves in the area include the Barren Grounds Nature Reserve, and the Cambewarra Range, Barrengarry and Rodway nature reserves – the latter three part of the Kangaroo Valley Group of Nature Reserves.
Ngambaa Nature Reserve, including Red Cedar Park is a protected area of 10,560 hectares, situated in the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales. The nearest large town is Macksville. The reserve endeavours to protect many rare and threatened flora and fauna species, such as rainforest and four species of ironbark trees. An interesting local species is the small bolwarra, one of the most primitive of flowering plants. The landscapes are of significance to the local Aboriginal communities, and contain relics of historical use by non-Aboriginal people.
The High Conservation Value Old Growth forest is a heritage-listed forest located across twelve local government areas in the Northern Rivers, Mid North Coast, and New England regions of New South Wales, Australia. The conservation area is also known as Old Growth Forest; HCVOG Forest; and Upper North East NSW. Broadly speaking, the conservation area forms part of the much larger Gondwana Rainforests, a UNESCO World Heritage Site totalling more than 366,000 hectares. The conservation area is owned by the NSW Department of Primary Industries and the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage, both agencies of the Government of New South Wales. The conservation area was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 22 December 2000.
Windsor Downs Nature Reserve is a protected area established in 1990 by the Government of New South Wales. The nature reserve, which occupies an area of 364 hectares, between Windsor Downs and Bligh Park, was established on land formerly owned by the Riverstone Meatworks for the grazing of cattle.
The Benambra National Park is a protected national park that is located 30 kilometres (19 mi) north-east of Albury, 20 kilometres (12 mi) south-east of Culcairn, and 20 kilometres (12 mi) south-west of Holbrook, New South Wales, in the South West Slopes region of New South Wales, Australia. The park is almost entirely surrounded by private land, however access can be gained by contacting the National Parks & Wildlife Service.
The Forestry Corporation of NSW is a state-owned corporation that has been appointed to manage environmental conservation, community access, tourism, fire, land management and renewable timber production across 2 million hectares of public land on behalf of the NSW Government.
