Burgemeester Damen Sportpark is a park located in Geleen, Netherlands. It was the location of the Pinkpop Festival from 1970 to 1986. [1] [2]
Sittard-Geleen is a municipality in the southeastern Netherlands. It was formed in 2001 from the former municipalities Sittard, Geleen and Born.
Alblasserdam is a town and municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The Pinkpop Festival is an annual music festival held at Landgraaf, Netherlands. It is usually held on the Pentecost weekend. If Pentecost falls on an early date in May, the festival is held later in June. Starting in 1970, at Burgemeester Damen Sportpark in the city of Geleen, Pinkpop is the oldest and longest running annual dedicated pop and rock music festival in the world.
Geleen is a city in the southern part of the province of Limburg in the Netherlands. With 31,670 inhabitants in 2020, it is part of the municipality of Sittard-Geleen. Geleen is situated along the river Geleenbeek, a right tributary to the river Meuse. The Latin name for Geleenbeek is Glana, meaning "clear river". The town centre is situated at about 60 m above sea level.

Jan Hendrikus Cornelis van Zanen is a Dutch politician who has served as Mayor of The Hague since 1 July 2020. A member of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), he previously served as Mayor of Utrecht (2014–2020) and Amstelveen (2005–2013). Jan van Zanen also was national chairman of the VVD (2003–2008). He has been president of the Association of Netherlands Municipalities (VNG) since 3 June 2015.

Sportpark Het Schootsveld is a cricket ground in Deventer, the Netherlands. The first recorded match held on the ground came in 1975 when Dansk XL Club played The Forty Club. The ground later held four ICC Trophy matches in the 1990. The ground held its first List A match in 1999 when the Netherlands played Cambridgeshire in the NatWest Trophy. Two further List A matches have been played there, both in the 2011 Clydesdale Bank 40 when the Netherlands played Middlesex and Derbyshire. The ground held its first first-class match in 2004 when the Netherlands hosted Ireland in the ICC Intercontinental Cup. Two further first-class matches have been held there, one in the 2009–10 Intercontinental Cup when Scotland were the visitors, and another in the 2011–13 Intercontinental Cup which saw Kenya as the visitors.

Rijnhal is a 5,000-capacity indoor arena located in Arnhem, Netherlands. The arena opened in 1972 and is primarily used for sports and concerts. Past notable artists that have performed at Rijnhal include AC/DC, Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper, Scorpions and Aerosmith.
A.C.M. "Ton" Raven is a Dutch politician, who has been serving as a member of the Senate since 2021. In that body, he is the only member of Independent Politics Netherlands. Before he became a senator, Raven had been active in Sittard-Geleen politics as a municipal councilor and alderman since 1990, representing the local parties Stadspartij Burgerbelangen Geleen and Stadspartij.
