Burslem is a town that along with Hanley, Tunstall, Fenton, Longton and Stoke-upon-Trent is part of the city of Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire, England.
Middleport is a residential and industrial district of the town of Burslem in the city of Stoke-on-Trent, England. Middleport lies to the west of Burslem, between Burslem town centre and the Newcastle-under-Lyme district of Porthill. To the north is Tunstall and to the south Cobridge and Etruria. Middleport conjoins Longport.

The station also has two trains a day on the Stoke-on-Trent to Manchester Piccadilly line. The station is owned by Network Rail and managed by East Midlands Railway.
Royal Doulton is an English ceramic manufacturing company dating from 1815. Operating originally in Vauxhall, London, later moving to Lambeth, in 1882 it opened a factory in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, in the centre of English pottery. From the start the backbone of the business was a wide range of utilitarian wares, mostly stonewares, including storage jars, tankards and the like, and later extending to pipes for drains, lavatories and other bathroom ceramics. From 1853 to 1902 its wares were marked Doulton & Co., then from 1902, when a royal warrant was given, Royal Doulton.
Burslem School of Art was an art school in the centre of the town of Burslem in the Potteries district of England. Students from the school played an important role in the local pottery industry. Pottery was made on the site of the school from the early Middle Ages. The venue was refurbished and re-opened for the arts in 1999.

It was formerly known as Haywood Engineering College, and changed its name in July 2013 to reflect its Academy status. Haywood Academy is a member of the Schools Cooperative Society and is proudly a cooperative school, governed by local people for the benefit of local young people. Its innovative sixth form provision has been highly regarded by the DFE as best practice.
Burslem railway station was a station on the Potteries Loop Line that served the town of Burslem, Staffordshire. It was located on Moorland Road, adjacent to Burslem Park. It should have opened with the extension of the Potteries Loop Line from Hanley on 1 November 1873 but the Board of Trade inspector was not satisfied so there was a delay of a month before opening.
The federation of Stoke-on-Trent was the 1910 amalgamation of the six Potteries towns of Burslem, Tunstall, Stoke-upon-Trent, Hanley, Fenton and Longton into the single county borough of Stoke-on-Trent. An anomaly in the history of English local government, this was the first union of its type and the only such event to take place until the 1960s. The 1910 federation was the culmination of a process of urban growth and municipal change that started in the early 19th century.
