Bussorah Street is situated in the Kampong Kampong Glam area of Singapore. [1] [2] [3] The street is named after the Iraqi city of Bussorah and features a collection of Middle Eastern restaurants and tourist shops. [4]

History

Bussorah Street was previously known as Kampong Kaji (Pilgrim Village) and Kampong Tembaga (Copper Village). [5]

Today, it is a considered a historical site with many conserved shophouses in the area.

Masjid Malabar or Malabar Muslim Jama-Ath Mosque, also known as Golden Dome Mosque; is Singapore's only Malabar Muslim mosque. The mosque is located at the junction of Victoria Street and Jalan Sultan in the Kampong Glam district, in the Rochor Planning Area within the Central Area. The mosque is built on the Sultan Mosque style with traditional blue and white lapis lazuli tile facade. The mosque was nicknamed as little cousin of the Sultan Mosque, because of similar golden domes.

The 1990 Thomas & Uber Cup was the 16th tournament of the Thomas Cup, and the 13th tournament of the Uber Cup, which are the major international team competitions in world badminton. The 1990 final stage was held in Tokyo, Japan, in May 1990.

Gedung Kuning is a Malay historical residence in Singapore. Located at 73 Sultan Gate, Gedung Kuning stands just outside the Malay Heritage Centre, near Masjid Sultan in the historic district of Kampong Glam in Singapore. However, from 1919 to 1925, the Gedung Kuning's address was 33 Sultan Gate. Once forming an annexe to the adjacent palace of Singapore's Malay rulers, Istana Kampong Glam, it became the private residence of Haji Yusoff, a prominent Malayo-Javanese merchant and four generations of his family. Together with the Istana, the compound was refurbished as part of the development of the Malay Heritage Centre in 2004.

Masjid Abdul Hamid Kampong Pasiran, or Abdul Hamid Kampong Pasiran Mosque is a mosque in Novena, Singapore. Built in 1932 in an area then known as Kampong Pasiran to replace a surau, it serves the needs of office workers around Newton and Novena. Before April 2002, it had a capacity of about 300 people. The mosque was demolished, rebuilt, and reopened on 24 October 2022. The new mosque building, built at a cost of $2 million, has a capacity of 600 people.
