Bwncath ("buzzard") is a Welsh rock-folk or contemporary folk band from Caernarfon.
The four-member band was formed in 2014. [1] The main singer, Elidyr Glyn, won the Alun Sbardun Huws trophy in the Eisteddfod Genedlaethol 2016 for composing the song Curiad Y Dydd. [2] Glyn is also known for winning Cân i Gymru ("Song for Wales") in 2019, with the song Fel Hyn 'Da Ni Fod. [3]
The band were described as the busiest and one of the most popular bands in Wales in 2022, performing over 100 gigs and booked to perform every weekend until July 2023. [4] They headlined Saturday in Tafwyl that year. [5] In 2023, Bwncath was described as one of the highlights of "Fel 'Na Mai" ("That's how it is") rock festival in Pembrokeshire. [6]
On 21 November 2023, bass guitarist and teacher Alun Williams was charged by North Wales Police with sexual communication with a child. [7] In response, Bwncath announced Williams would not participate in the band's future performances. [8] He was acquitted in April 2024 after the prosecution offered no evidence. [9]

Bwncath has performed live in events across Wales including, Eisteddfod yr Urdd, Caernarfon Food Festival, Gŵyl Rhuthun, and Gŵyl Fach y Fro. They have also appeared on Noson Lawen on S4C. [10]

Meic Stevens is a Welsh singer-songwriter. He has been one of the most prominent figures in the Welsh music scene for over five decades, and played a key role in establishing the popular music scene in Wales. He is described by some as "the Welsh Bob Dylan" and has also been compared favorably with musicians such as Syd Barrett. Stevens's songs are mostly sung in his native Welsh language and have a mystical, faintly psychedelic flavour. His work has influenced groups such as Gorky's Zygotic Mynci and Super Furry Animals. Its eight days of competitions and performances are considered the largest music and poetry festival in Europe. Competitors typically number 6,000 or more, and overall attendance generally exceeds 100,000 visitors, the highest recently being 186,000 attending the 2024 festival in Pontypridd. The 2018 Eisteddfod was held in Cardiff Bay with a fence-free 'Maes'. In 2020, the event was held virtually under the name AmGen; events were held over a one-week period.

Anweledig are a band from Blaenau Ffestiniog, Wales; their style is a mixture of funk, reggae, ska and rock. The band consists of Ceri Cunnington (vocals), Gai Toms (guitar/vocals), Iwan 'Oz' Jones (guitar), Rhys Roberts, Alwyn Evans (drums), Joe Buckley (keyboard), Edwin Humphreys (saxophone), Barri Gwilliam (trumpet) and Arwel Davies (trombone).
Derwyddon Dr Gonzo were a Welsh-language funk and ska band from Llanrug, North Wales. Having reached number one in Siart C2, their music has received airplay on BBC Radio Cymru, BBC Radio 1 and Serbian radio. The band performed regularly on the Welsh language scene circuit, in addition to larger festivals such as Latitude Festival, Wakestock, Sŵn, Sesiwn Fawr Dolgellau and Maes B at the National Eisteddfod. Their second EP, Chaviach/Bwthyn was released on the Copa Label in 2008. On 27 July 2009 the band released their second album, Stonk!, on the Copa label, and recorded at the Wings for Jesus Studio in Cardiff by Sir Doufus Styles.
The Pan Celtic Festival is a Celtic-language festival held annually in the week following Easter, in Ireland, since its inauguration in 1971. Gareth 'Gai' J Thomas 'Toms' is a Welsh singer-songwriter, musician, producer and actor. In 1992 he co-formed the popular Welsh ska-rock band Anweledig, which developed into one of Wales' top live party bands. From 1997 to 2007 he created an 'off the road' Welsh folk outfit Mim Twm Llai, releasing three albums on Recordiau Sain. Since 2008, he dropped the Mim Twm Llai pseudonym for his own lifelong nickname Gai Toms, performing solo on guitar or with his backing band. His latest album titled 'Orig', based on the life of Welsh wrestling legend Orig Williams, gave us Gai Toms a'r Banditos.
Y Bandana are a Welsh language alternative rock band that formed in Caernarfon in 2008. The band is composed of brothers Tomos Owens (keyboard) and Siôn Owens, their cousin Gwilym Bowen Rhys and Robin Jones (percussion). They are known for combining humorous lyrics with catchy melodies.
