Byron Tremain Dawson (born February 9, 1980) is an American college football coach. He is the head football coach for Centenary College of Louisiana, a position he has held since 2022. [1] He is the Gentlemen's first football coach following the return of the program after its dissolution in 1947. [2] [3] He was the head football coach for Evangel Christian Academy from 2005 to 2019; [4] winning five Louisiana High School Athletic Association state championships. He also coached for Redemptorist High School and Tulane. [5] [6] He played college football for LSU as a defensive tackle. [7]

Joshua Gibson Booty is an American former professional baseball and football player. Booty played briefly in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a third baseman, and also in the National Football League (NFL) as a quarterback. He played college football for the LSU Tigers.
Jerry Lane Stovall , nicknamed "Mr. Everything", is an American former football player, coach, and college athletics administrator. He played college football for the LSU Tigers, where he was a unanimous selection to the 1962 College Football All-America Team as a halfback. Stovall played professionally as a safety and punter in the National Football League (NFL) with the St. Louis Cardinals from 1963 to 1971. Stovall served as the head football coach at his alma mater, LSU, from 1980 to 1983, compiling a record of 22–21–2 in four seasons and leading the 1982 team to an appearance in the 1983 Orange Bowl. He was the athletic director at Louisiana Tech University from 1990 to 1993. He is the only player in LSU history to be named a unanimous All-American (1962), be selected to the college football hall of fame (2010), be selected as a first round pick (1963), and to be selected to the pro bowl.

The LSU Tigers football program, also known as the Fighting Tigers, represents Louisiana State University in college football. The Tigers compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Western Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
The 1895 LSU football team represented Louisiana State University (LSU) during the 1895 college football season. Coach Albert Simmonds, in his last year at LSU, guided the Tigers to an undefeated season, the first in program history. The season also featured the first home victory in LSU history with a win over Tulane in front of 1,500 spectators. A contemporary account reads "The Tulane football team, with its band of shouters and several crippled players, returned to the city yesterday morning wearing dejected faces, as a result of the defeat administered at Baton Rouge Saturday." LSU joined the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association (SIAA) in 1895, and began playing as part of the conference in 1896.
The 1896 LSU Tigers football team represented Louisiana State University (LSU) during the 1896 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association football season. This was LSU's first season playing as a member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association (SIAA). The Tigers, led by coach Allen Jeardeau, went undefeated and were the SIAA co-champions. It was LSU's second undefeated season in football. The 1896 team was also the first LSU team to use the nickname "Tigers".

Derek Dooley is an American football coach and former player who last served as a senior offensive analyst for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He served as the head football coach at Louisiana Tech University from 2007 to 2009 and the University of Tennessee from 2010 to 2012.
Lester Joseph Lautenschlaeger was an American football player and coach and politician. He played at the quarterback position at Tulane University from 1922 to 1925, served as an assistant football coach at Tulane from 1929 to 1935, and served in the Louisiana House of Representatives from 1928 to 1932. He was inducted to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1975, the Tulane Athletics Hall of Fame in 1977, and the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame in 1983.

The 1925 Tulane Green Wave football team represented the Tulane Green Wave of Tulane University in the sport of American football during the 1925 Southern Conference football season.
The 1930 Tulane Green Wave football team represented Tulane University during the 1930 Southern Conference football season. The team, which was led by fourth-year head coach Bernie Bierman, posted an 8–1 record and shared the Southern Conference (SoCon) title with national champion Alabama. Tulane outscored its opponents 263–30, eliminating six of nine competing teams.

This was LSU's final season as a member of the Southern Conference, and it won a share of the conference title. After the first two games, all the rest were shutouts either by LSU or the opponent.

The Gentlemen play their home games at Mayo Field located in Shreveport, Louisiana. They are lead by Head coach Byron Dawson, who is the former head coach of the Evangel Christian Academy Eagles from 2005 to 2019; winning five Louisiana High School Athletic Association state championships. This is Centenary's first football season since 1947. They lost their first game against Hendrix College.
