Usagi Yojimbo is a comic book series created by Stan Sakai. It is set primarily at the beginning of the Edo period of Japanese history and features anthropomorphic animals replacing humans. The main character is a rabbit rōnin, Miyamoto Usagi, whom Sakai based partially on the famous swordsman Miyamoto Musashi. Usagi wanders the land on a musha shugyō, occasionally selling his services as a bodyguard.

Fallen Angel is an American fictional comic book heroine created and owned by writer Peter David and artist David López, who appeared in her own self-titled monthly series. It was originally published by DC Comics from July 2003 until it was canceled with issue #20 in May 2005 due to low sales. A second series, published through IDW Publishing, began in December 2005 and ran for 33 issues. It was followed by two mini-series, Fallen Angel: Reborn and Fallen Angel: Return of the Son, also published by IDW Publishing.

Bête Noire is the seventh solo studio album by the English singer Bryan Ferry. The album was released in November 1987 on Virgin Records in the United Kingdom and Reprise Records in the United States. The album was a commercial and critical success, peaking at No. 9 in the UK and was certified Gold by the BPI.
Blab! is a comics anthology edited by Monte Beauchamp. Though its primary focus is comics, it regularly features articles with non-comics illustration and graphic design. The first two issues (1986-87) were published by Beauchamp's own imprint, Monte Comix. Kitchen Sink Press took over with issue #3 in 1988, through #8, also publishing 2nd editions of #1 and 2 along the way. Issues #9–18 were published annually by Fantagraphics Books in a 120-page, 10" x 10" square format featuring both black-and-white and color art.
Franquin's Last Laugh is a collection of black comedy comic strips drawn by André Franquin, written by Franquin and Yvan Delporte. The one-page stories first appeared frequently in 1977, in the brief run of the Spirou magazine supplement, Le Trombone illustré. After this initiative was cancelled, Idées noires resumed publication in the magazine Fluide Glacial, upon Gotlib's suggestion, where it remained a fixture until 1983. The first album was published in 1981, and a sequel in half-page format was published in 1984.
Kim Thompson was an American comic book editor, translator, and publisher, best known as vice president and co-publisher of Seattle-based Fantagraphics Books. Along with co-publisher Gary Groth, Thompson used his position to further the cause of alternative comics in the American market. In addition, Thompson made it his business to bring the work of European cartoonists to American readers.

It is set in a world in which France won the Napoleonic Wars and invaded Britain, and in which the world is populated mostly by anthropomorphic animals. The main character is Detective Inspector Archibald "Archie" LeBrock of Scotland Yard, a British anthropomorphic badger.
