CUSB Bank, formerly known as Cresco Union Savings Bank and C US Bank, is a family-owned state-chartered bank based in Cresco, Iowa. It was founded in 1888 and provides residential, commercial and agricultural loans. The bank has locations in Cresco, Lime Springs, Ridgeway, Osage and Charles City. [1]

Ellen Church was the first female flight attendant. A trained nurse and pilot, Church wanted to pilot commercial aircraft, but those jobs were not open to women. Still wanting to fly, Church successfully worked to convince Boeing Air Transport that using nurses as flight-stewardesses would increase safety and help convince passengers that flying was safe. Their first flight took off on May 15, 1930.

Crestwood Secondary School is a public high school, located in Cresco, Howard County, in northeast Iowa. Crestwood is the high school for the Howard–Winneshiek Community School District. It serves students from the cities of Cresco, Chester, Lime Springs, Elma, and Ridgeway. Students from nearby Protivin can choose to attend this school as well. The school district was formed in 1960 by combining the independent school districts and high schools of Cresco, Chester, Elma, Lime Springs, and Ridgeway. The current high school building was built in 1969.

Sherwyn Arthur Thorson was a Canadian football player who played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and won the Grey Cup with them in 1962. He played college football and wrestled at heavyweight with the University of Iowa, placing 2nd in 1960 and 1st in 1962. He was inducted into the Iowa Wrestling Hall of Fame (2007) and University of Iowa Athletics Hall of Fame (2011). He died of cancer in 2016.

Philip Michael Tuts is an American high-energy experimental particle physicist, and Professor and Chair of the Columbia University Physics Department. Tuts is a Fellow of the American Physical Society. He holds a seat on the executive committees of the United States LHC Users' Association and the American Physics Society Forum on Physics and Society, and is Divisional Councilor of the Division of Particles and Fields of APS. Tuts earned his Bachelor's in Physics from MIT in 1974, and his MA and PhD from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1976 and 1979, respectively. He joined the physics department at Columbia University in the City of New York in 1983 and was appointed Chair in 2014. Tuts is currently a member of the ATLAS experiment team at CERN and formerly served as US ATLAS Operations Program Manager.

The Cresco Opera House, also known as the Cresco Theater, is a historic building located in Cresco, Iowa, United States. The first known theater in Cresco was the Lyric Hall, which opened in 1875. It showed the first movies around 1900. The Family and the Cozy theaters opened around the turn of the century. The Lyric was condemned and torn down in 1913, and the other two were considered substandard. The Cresco Commercial Club held a fundraiser in early 1914 to build an opera house. The Cresco Opera House Company was organized around the same time. The building was completed by the end of the year, and it opened in 1915. It was designed by local engineer Joseph H. Howe, and constructed by local builder Martin Johnson. The musical High Jinks was the first performance held in the theater. The theater, which seats 425, was equipped to show movies and there was a community hall in the basement. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981.

He also served as vice chancellor of Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University. During his academic career he contributed to environmental studies, regional development, and value education. He has served as the Head of the Department of Geography and was the founding Director of the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Research Foundation. Prof. Singh has supervised twenty Ph.D. students and a post-doctoral fellow, and has published over seventy research papers, policy papers, and seventeen books.
