The Cabinet Office is a department of the Government of Sri Lanka responsible for supporting the Cabinet of Sri Lanka in its policy formulation process. The department was formed in 1947 when the first cabinet of the Dominion of Ceylon was formed, headed by The Rt Hon D.S. Senanayake, first Prime Minister of Ceylon. It was located at the Republic Building, Colombo until moved to Lloyd's Building in 2022. The head of the Cabinet Office is the Cabinet Secretary.

The first Cabinet Secretary was T. D. Perera who was Deputy Secretary to the Treasury, and held the post concurrently. Administration handled by the Assistant Secretary Bernard Peiris, who functioned as de facto Secretary until appointment as Cabinet Secretary. Thus becoming the third person to hold that office. The current Cabinet Secretary is W.M.D.J Fernando, [1] who is functioning in that post since August 2020.

The Sri Lanka Administrative Service (SLAS) (Sinhala: ශ්‍රී ලංකා පරිපාලන සේවය; śrī laṁkā paripālana sēvaya) is the key administrative service of the Government of Sri Lanka, with civil servants working for both in the Central Government as well as in the provincial councils. The award started to be presented again in 2015 by President Maithripala Sirisena.

The Prime Minister's Office is a ministry of the Government of Sri Lanka. It provides the administrative and institutional framework for the exercise of the duties and responsibilities vested in the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka. From 1947 to 1978 it was the most powerful office within the government. However, after the creation of the executive presidency in 1978 the post of Prime Minister became more or less nominal and functions as a deputy to the President, with a few exceptions.

Sir Susantha de Fonseka KBE was a Ceylonese statesmen and diplomat. He was the Deputy Speaker of the State Council of Ceylon and following Ceylon's independence from Britain his first Ambassador to Burma and first Ambassador to Japan. De Fonseka took an active part in the country's struggle for universal suffrage and self-determination.

The Ministry of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies is a cabinet ministry of the Government of Sri Lanka responsible for developing and executing the government's public finance policy, economic policy and long term fiscal planning. The Treasury is housed at the General Treasury Building in Fort.

Bernard Percival Peiris, OBE, JP was a Sri Lankan lawyer. He was the former Cabinet Secretary and the Legal Draftsmen who drafted the Ceylon Order in Council, the first constitution of independent Ceylon.

Leslie Simon Bernard Perera, CCS was a Sri Lankan civil servant. A career officer of the Ceylon Civil Service, he was the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and Social Services as Director Civil Aviation, he played a major role in the formation of Air Ceylon. Later he served as High Commissioners of Sri Lanka to Canada.

Theodore Duncan Perera, CMG was a Ceylonese civil servant who served as the Secretary of the Treasury from December 1950 to March 1951 and Deputy High Commissioner for Ceylon in the United Kingdom.
