The Cabinet of Sam Matekane is the incumbent coalition government of the Kingdom of Lesotho. It was established on 4 November 2022 following the swearing-in of Prime Minister Sam Matekane on 28 October 2022. It is the fifth coalition government in Lesotho history. [1]
Businessman Sam Matekane's Revolution for Prosperity's won a plurality of seats in the National Assembly in the general election held on 7 October 2023. On 11 October 2023, it was announced that the RFP would form a coalition government with the Alliance of Democrats and the Movement for Economic Change. [2] The coalition agreement between the parties were signed on 21 October 2023. The new cabinet would consists of no more than 15 ministries with the RFP being allocated control of 13 ministries while the AD and MEC would receive one minister each. [3] Matekane was sworn in on 28 October and announced the cabinet on 4 November. [4] [5]
Following a failed vote of no confidence in October 2023, the Basotho Action Party joined the ruling coalition. [6] On 8 November 2023, the cabinet was expanded to accommodate new coalition partners. [7]

Thomas Motsoahae Thabane is a Mosotho politician who was the fifth prime minister of Lesotho from 2012 to 2015 and from 2017 to 2020. He founded the All Basotho Convention (ABC) in 2006 and led the party until 2022.
Kembo Dugish Campbell Muleya Mohadi is a Zimbabwean politician and Vice-President of Zimbabwe since 8 September 2023. He previously served in the same role from 28 December 2017 to 1 March 2021, when he resigned. He briefly served as the Minister of Defence, Security and War Veterans in 2017. Previously he was Minister of State for National Security in the President's Office from 2015 to 2017 and Minister of Home Affairs from 2002 to 2015.
Mpho Franklyn Parks Tau is a South African politician who has been a Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs since March 2023 and a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa since February 2023, representing the African National Congress. He is the youngest party leader of the newly founded Movement for Economic Change (MEC), which was announced on 1 February 2017. He formed this political party after he was suspended from the Lesotho Congress for Democracy (LCD) which is led by former deputy prime minister Mothejoa Metsing.

Ntsokoane Samuel Matekane is a Mosotho businessman and politician who is the current Prime Minister of Lesotho. Prior to running, he was considered to be the richest person in the country. Matekane made his fortune in diamond mining, as well as through government issued construction contracts. He founded his company, Matekane Group of Companies (MGC) in 1986.

Limpho Justice Tau is a Mosotho politician who has been the Minister in the Prime Minister's Office in Sam Matekane's Cabinet since November 2022. A member of the Revolution for Prosperity party, Tau serves in the Senate. Tau had previously led the Democratic Party, and was the party's sole member in the National Assembly from 2017 until his defection to the RFP in March 2022.
