Cadence was a Canadian a cappella vocal group based in Toronto, Ontario. [1] Nominated for the 2006 Juno Award for Best Vocal Jazz Album of the Year [2] for their album "Twenty for One", they have produced five albums.

History

Cadence formed in 1998 by York University students Carl Berger, Ross Lynde, Daniel Galessiere, and Kevin Fox. [3] In 2000 the group released an album, Frost Free, with a capella arrangements of popular pop and jazz songs. [4] Their album Twenty For One was released in 2005. [5]

In 2009, Cadence sang on Kristy Cardinelli's album My Romance. [6] [7] By 2007 Fox and Bell had left the group, and Aaron Jensen and Kurt Sampson had joined; [1] this lineup recorded the group's next album, Speak Easy.

Cadence toured and performed around Canada, as well as in the United States, Europe and Asia. Cadence was also active in music education, attending school functions and hosting a summer camp for a cappella musicians.

On October 21, 2020, Cadence announced via their Facebook page that the group would no longer be continuing.

They won 1st place at the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) in 2007 and appeared on the first season of NBC's a cappella competition reality show The Sing-Off in 2009. Esther Yoder formed the group in 2003, aided by members of BYU's Vocal Point. Noteworthy began operating under the direction of the Performing Arts Management (PAM) at BYU in 2014. One of their most popular music videos is a cover of Amazing Grace, which won the Contemporary A Cappella Society (CARA) award for Best Religious Video and has garnered millions of views on YouTube since its release. Noteworthy has released six albums since its formation in 2003. Courage My Love was a Canadian rock band from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. Formed in 2009 the band consisted of twin siblings Mercedes Arn-Horn and Phoenix Arn-Horn in addition to bassist Brandon Lockwood.

Brad Turner is a Canadian jazz trumpeter and pianist. He has won three Juno Awards and six Canadian National Jazz Awards for categories including Jazz Trumpeter of the Year, Jazz Composer of the Year, and Musician of the Year.

Chic Gamine is a Canadian musical group from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Formed in 2007 by vocalists Ariane Jean, Alexa Dirks, Andrina Turenne, Annick Bremault and drummer Sacha Daoud, they began with a vocal pop style backed only by drums, but later evolved to add more instrumentation. Jean, Turenne and Bremault had previously been members of the larger vocal group Madrigaïa.
