The California Garlic Festival is a food festival in California, United States, centered around Garlic, that was started in 2022 in response to the cancellation of the Gilroy Garlic Festival. The new festival is sometimes considered a successor of the other, [1] although they are organized by two unrelated promoters. [2] [3]
The California Garlic Festival is organized by the Noceti Group, which also organizes the annual Asparagus Festival in Stockton. [1] [4]
The event was held at San Joaquin County Fairgrounds in August 2022 and August 2023, and moved to Los Banos in August 2024. [1] [4]

After its cancellation in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a drive-through festival was held on July 23–25 and 30–31 July and August 1, 2021. In April 2022, the Gilroy Garlic Festival Association announced the indefinite suspension of the traditional large-format festival, stating that it would instead host smaller individual events. In May 2022, the festival was canceled permanently.

Gilroy station is a Caltrain station located in Gilroy, California, United States. It is the southern terminus of the South County Connector service, and is only served during weekday rush hours in the peak direction, with trains going toward San Jose in the morning and returning southbound in the evening. The station building was constructed by the Southern Pacific Railroad in 1918 and restored in 1998. Future plans call for extended Amtrak Capitol Corridor service, as well as California High-Speed Rail trains, to also stop at Gilroy. The station was named to the National Register of Historic Places in 2019 as Gilroy Southern Pacific Railroad Depot.

Tinsley Island is a small island in the Sacramento–San Joaquin River Delta, in San Joaquin County, California, next to the Stockton Deepwater Shipping Channel. It was created in the 1930s, when dredging to improve the navigability of the San Joaquin River cut it off from Roberts Island. Since 1958, it has been owned by the St. Francis Yacht Club. In 1960, the club transported a lighthouse from San Francisco Bay to serve as its clubhouse, and in the same year began an annual "Stag Cruise"; as of 2024, the club still owns the island and maintains a clubhouse there.
The Stewart Tract is an island in the Sacramento–San Joaquin River Delta. It is part of San Joaquin County, California, and managed by Reclamation District 2062. Its coordinates are 37°48′13″N121°20′53″W, and the United States Geological Survey measured its elevation as 13 ft (4.0 m) in 1981.
