Calist Andrew Mwatela (born 1947) is a Kenyan politician and educator. He was a member of the East African Legislative Assembly, representing Kenya from 2001 to 2006. [1] He represented Mwatate Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya on an Orange Democratic Movement ticket. He was elected in 2007, but was unable to defend his seat in the 2013 general election. [2]

He was born in Tungulu village in Bura, which is part of Taita-Taveta County. He worked as a primary school teacher, and during this time, he authored several school textbooks. He joined active politics, vying for the Mwatate seat with the Democratic Party of Kenya, then led by former Kenyan president Mwai Kibaki. He is married to Jacinta Mwatela, who served as deputy governor at the Central Bank of Kenya from 2005 to 2008. [3]

He served as the assistant minister for Education during his term as member of parliament. [4]

Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka is a Kenyan politician who was the tenth Vice-President of Kenya from 2008 to 2013. Musyoka served in the government under President Daniel arap Moi and was Minister for Foreign Affairs from 1993 until 1998; subsequently, under President Mwai Kibaki, he was Minister of Foreign Affairs again from 2003 to 2004, then Minister of the Environment from 2004 to 2005. He was an unsuccessful candidate in the 2007 presidential election, after which he was appointed as Vice-President by Kibaki in January 2008.

John Kiyonga Munyes is a Kenyan politician born in 1966 in the latter day Turkana County. He attended Lokitaung Primary School for his primary education and he later attended Lodwar High School for his ‘O Level’ and ‘A Level’. He later attended St Francis University for his undergraduate studies.

Wycliffe Oparanya Kenyan politician

H.E. Hon. Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya, EGH is a Kenyan politician, serving as the incumbent governor of Kakamega County and Council of Governors chairperson. He was elected 4 March 2013 and became the first governor of Kakamega County following promulgation of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, and subsequently in August 2017, for his second term as the governor. He is, therefore, the pioneer Governor of Kakamega County under the devolved system of governance in Kenya that established 47 counties. He was previously Minister of State for Planning, National Development and Vision 2030 in the government of President Mwai Kibaki. He was appointed on 14 January 2019 as the Council of Governors of Kenya chairperson. He was rated as the best Governor for the year 2020 by the Infotrak Research Group. H.E Wycliffe Oparanya is also the current Orange Democratic Movement Deputy party leader.

Peter Anyang' Nyong'o is a Kenyan politician and author who is the Governor of Kisumu County. He is a former Secretary-General of Orange Democratic Movement. Professor Nyong'o was the acting party leader from March 11 until late May when Raila Odinga was in the United States and was elected to the National Assembly of Kenya in the December 2007 parliamentary election, representing the Kisumu Rural Constituency. He was the Minister for Medical Services and previously the Minister for Planning & National Development. He is currently serving as the Governor for Kisumu County after serving as the Senator from 2013 to 2017.

Mwalimu Masudi Mwahima was a Kenyan politician. He belonged to the Orange Democratic Movement and was elected to represent the Likoni Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya since the 2007 Kenyan parliamentary election.

Gideon Musyoka Ndambuki is a Kenyan politician. He has been the Kaiti Constituency MP since 1997 when the constituency was established, and was a minister between 1998 and 2002. At the 1997 and 2002 elections he won the seat representing the KANU party, but represented the Orange Democratic Movement-Kenya at the 2007 Kenyan parliamentary election. He unsuccessfully vied for the Makueni County Senate seat during Wiper Democratic Party nominations in the run-up to the 2013 General Elections in Kenya. Educated in the US, he was an employee of the Commercial Bank of Africa in the 1980s, and more controversially, Managing Director of Trade Bank between 1986 and its collapse in 1993.

Abdirahman Ali Hassan is a Kenyan politician. He served in the government of Kenya as assistant minister for trade and industry from 2005 to 2007. A member of the Orange Democratic Movement, He was elected to represent the Wajir South Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya in the Kenyan 2002 parliamentary election. He was also elected to the senate of Kenya in 2013, representing Wajir county, and becoming deputy minority leader in the senate.

Katoo Ole Metito is a Kenyan politician and former Minister for provincial administration and Internal Security in the Kenyan government. He belongs to Jubilee Party and was elected to represent the Kajiado South Constituency (Loitoktok) in the National Assembly of Kenya since the 2007 Kenyan parliamentary election. He has been a blessing to his country since he contributed several projects for the maa people and others with the help of Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku. In 2022, he intends to vie for Kajiado county gubernatorial seat.

Wilfred Gisuka Machage is a Kenyan politician. Machage was first elected as Member of Parliament to represent the Kuria Constituency in 2002. He has served in several government ministries as an assistant minister and was at one time appointed a cabinet minister for East African Community Affairs, Bank accounts held at Kenya Commercial Bank, where he was also an ex-officio member of the East African Legislative Assembly. In 2007 he was the Democratic Party candidate and was elected to represent the Kuria Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya in the December 2007 parliamentary election. He has also served as Assistant Minister of Home Affairs' Office of Vice President, Office of the President, Health, and Roads. Machage was elected as the first senator of Migori county in 2012 to 2017. He is a businessman with interests in different sectors globally. He was appointed as Ambassador by H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta on 27 January 2018. Machage is the current Kenya high commissioner to Nigeria and accredited to 12 other countries in central and west Africa.

Reverend Moses Akaranga is a Kenyan politician who served as the first governor of Vihiga county having been defeated by Dr. Wilberforce Ottichilo in August 2017. He is also former Member of parliament for Sabatia constituency, having defeated Musalia Mudavadi of KANU from the Sabatia Constituency seat in the 2002 elections on a Ford-Kenya ticket. He served only one term and was defeated by Mudavadi, who was now representing Orange Democratic Movement at the 2007 elections.
