Calum Stewart (born 1982) is an uilleann piper, low whistle and wooden flute player and composer from Garmouth in Scotland, who performs primarily traditional Scottish, Irish and Breton music.
Brought up in a musical household, Calum Stewart's playing style is rooted in the traditional music of his native northern Scotland. His distinct musical voice has been developed through collaborations within the English, Scottish, Irish, Breton and Scandinavian traditions.
In demand as a concert and recording artist, Calum has recorded and performed with The London Philharmonic Orchestra, [1] The London Symphony Orchestra and Nitin Sawhney. [2]

Since 2014 he is also a member of the Band of Angelo Kelly (Kelly Family) and performs with him on his tours, Irish Christmas and Irish Summer. He also worked with Angelo Kelly on his studio Albums Irish Christmas (2016) and Irish Heart (2018).

The tin whistle, also called the penny whistle, flageolet, English flageolet, Scottish penny whistle, tin flageolet, Irish whistle, Belfast Hornpipe, feadóg stáin and Clarke London Flageolet is a simple, six-holed woodwind instrument. It is a type of fipple flute, putting it in the same class as the recorder, Native American flute, and other woodwind instruments that meet such criteria. A tin whistle player is called a whistler. The tin whistle is closely associated with Celtic music.
The low whistle, or concert whistle, is a variation of the traditional tin whistle/pennywhistle, distinguished by its lower pitch and larger size. It is most closely associated with the performances of British and Irish artists such as Finbar Furey and his son Martin Furey, Old Blind Dogs, Michael McGoldrick, Riverdance, Lunasa, Donie Keyes, Chris Conway, and Davy Spillane, and is increasingly accepted as a feature of Celtic music. The low whistle is often used for the playing of airs and slow melodies due to its haunting and delicate sound. However, it is also becoming used more often for the playing of jigs, reels and hornpipes from the Irish, Scottish, Manx, Welsh, and English traditions. A reason put forward for this being, it's easier to produce some ornamentation on the whistle, due to the size of the finger holes.
