Camera 40 Productions is an independent film production company based in Utah, USA. The company was formed in 2001 by filmmakers Jason Faller, Andrew Black and Kynan Griffin while they were attending film school.

Kaiju is a Japanese term that is commonly associated with media involving giant monsters. The kaiju film genre is credited to tokusatsu director Eiji Tsuburaya and filmmaker Ishirō Honda, who popularized it by creating the Godzilla franchise and its spin-offs. Excel Saga is a manga series written and illustrated by Kōshi Rikudō.
