Cammy Thomas is an American poet. Her first book, Cathedral of Wish, received the Norma Farber First Book Award from the Poetry Society of America. [1] A fellowship from the Ragdale Foundation helped her complete her second, Inscriptions. Her third collection, Tremors, is forthcoming in 2021. All are published by Four Way Books. Two of her poems, under the title Far Past War, were set to music by her sister, composer Augusta Read Thomas. [2] The premiere of this choral work will be performed by the Cathedral Choral Society at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. on March 13, 2022. Thomas currently lives in Lexington, Massachusetts. [3]

Norma Holzmann Farber was an American children's book writer and poet. The Poetry Society of America presents the Norma Farber First Book Award, which is awarded for a first book of original poetry written by an American.

Hilda Conkling American poet

Hilda Conkling (1910–1986) was an American poet. She was the daughter of Grace Hazard Conkling, a poet in her own right and Assistant Professor of English at Smith College, Northampton, Massachusetts. Hilda was born in New York state. No Search, No Rescue is an English-language poem by the Palestinian poet Jehan Bseiso on the refugee crisis. The first stanza reads: "How do we overcome war and poverty only to drown in your sea?" The poem has also been referred to as a film poem. It was first published by Electronic Intifada in 2015. It has been set to music twice, by the Norwegian composer Marcus Paus and the Italian composer Silvia Borzelli.
