Can't Stop is a demo album featuring music recorded by American singer Ashanti. [1] The album was first released in 2004 and then on January 25, 2006 in United States. It was re-released multiple times under different labels throughout 2007. [2] It was released on May 31, 2012 for digital download in United Kingdom only.
"Can't Stop" features material that Ashanti (born Ashanti Douglas) recorded on July 15, 1997. The tapes resurfaced in September 2004 and was re-mixed and mastered by Genard Parker and Ernie Lake. [3] [4]
Ashanti claims she recorded the material for demo-shopping purposes and never intended the recordings to be released to the public.
"I was just a teenager following my dreams when I signed with Parker. Me and my mother went to his house to work on some songs hoping to launch my career. Genard couldn't deliver for me and he signed a release permitting me to go to another record company." [5]
Further, on two of the tracks she only sings background vocals, while on another she is not performing at all. [4]
Ashaniti filed suit to stop distribution. In addition to Genard Parker (and possibly Ernie Lake), Big Records Australia, Farm Records, Unique Corp., Simply Vinyl, Team Entertainment, ZYX Music and others are named as defendants in the lawsuit. The album has a street date of February 21, 2005. [3] [4]
Genard Parker sued Ashanti for breach of contract and the jury awarded $630,000. When Ashanti got a record deal, he let her out of the contract she signed with him, with the understanding that he'd get to produce some songs for her and earn royalties. Although the jury took Parker’s side, they didn’t give him everything he asked for. He had sued Ashanti for $2.2 million. [6] Of the $630,000 awarded by the jury, US District Judge Jed Rakoff rejected all but $50,000 of the award on the grounds that the jurors did not have adequate facts to determine damages so they were left to speculate. [7] Ashanti sought an injunction to block the release and damages in excess of $1 million. [3] [8] September 19, 2006, Ashanti has settled a lawsuit with her first producer, Genard Parker, out of court on Tuesday, dropping all litigation in their contract dispute. [7]

Buffalo Springfield is a career retrospective album by the 1960s folk rock band of the same name, released in 2001. Band member Neil Young assembled the tracks in chronological order to show how the band evolved and disintegrated in the span of two years, as encompassed through the first three CDs, while the fourth disc contains the band's first two albums, all but three tracks of which had already appeared in identical versions elsewhere on the first three discs. The box set reached number 194 on Billboard's Top 200 album chart, and stayed on the chart for one week.
"I Just Can't Stop Loving You" is a 1987 duet ballad by American singers Michael Jackson and Siedah Garrett, and was released as the first single on July 20, 1987, by Epic Records from his seventh album, Bad. The song was written by Jackson, and co-produced by Jackson and Quincy Jones. The presence of Garrett on the track was a last-minute decision by Jackson and Jones, after Jackson's first two choices for the duet both decided against participating. Garrett, a protégé of Jones's who co-wrote another song on Bad, "Man in the Mirror", did not know that she would be singing the song until the day of the recording session. It became her first hit since Dennis Edwards' 1984 song "Don't Look Any Further". Garrett remains known primarily for her work with Jackson to this day.

The Vault is a collection of 12 previously unreleased songs by R&B singer Ashanti, released in Japan on February 18, 2009, and in the US on May 19 by AJM Records and The Orchard. The songs were written during Ashanti’s teenage years and some songs were used as demos for later songs, in addition the majority of the song lyrics can be found in her previously released book of poetry “Reflections on Love” (2002). The songs were recorded while Ashanti was still under contract to AJM and before she signed with Murder Inc Records. Further production was added before the album's release in 2009. The collection was released without input or support from Ashanti. It was released in Japan on February 18, 2009, as the first project in the Avex Group–The Orchard alliance. According to Billboard, "Let's Do Something Crazy" featuring Flo Rida was lined up as the album's first single, followed by "Imagine Life".
Keep an Eye on the Sky is a 4-CD, 98-song career retrospective box set from American rock group Big Star, released in 2009. It features 52 unreleased tracks: demos, alternate takes, and live performances. As well as material from founder member Chris Bell's earlier bands Rock City and Icewater, it includes all titles from Big Star's first three studio albums, #1 Record, Radio City, and Third/Sister Lovers, and a recording of a 1973 Big Star concert. Staged in January at Lafayette's Music Room, the Memphis venue used again in May for the Rock Writers' Convention, the concert took place after Bell's departure and before the remainder of the group began work on Radio City. The box set's liner notes won a 2011 Grammy Award for author Robert Gordon.

The song was originally recorded in 1986 during initial recording sessions for Jackson's seventh studio album, Bad, but was never finished and was left off the album. Jackson reportedly revisited the track for his eighth and ninth studio albums, but it was again abandoned from both. In May 2012, it was announced that Jackson's original 1986 demo for "Don't Be Messin' 'Round" was to be included on a re-release of the original first single from Bad, "I Just Can't Stop Loving You". This release marked the beginning of the promotional campaign for Bad 25, a twenty-fifth-anniversary re-release of the Bad album.
