The Cannon Center for the Performing Arts is a 2,051-seat multi-purpose venue in Memphis, Tennessee. [1] Home to the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, it opened in 2003. [2] [3] It also hosts comedians, [4] stage plays and children's theater, [5] ballet, [6] beauty pageants, [7] concerts, [8] and more. [1] It has previously hosted the Memphis mayor's swearing in ceremony, [9] the Memphis Music Hall of Fame ceremony, [10] and the Miss United States pageant. [11] The center had a complete cosmetic update, along with the associated Cook Convention Center, in 2018. [12]
