Capital Teas is an American specialty tea brand, founded in 2007 in Annapolis, Maryland, [1] that offers premium loose tea and tea-related products. From 2007 [2] through 2018, the company operated brick and mortar stores, peaking at 24 retails stores in eight states by late 2016. Two years later, the company shifted strategies and became an e-commerce-only provider. In October 2018, Anchor Beverages, Inc. took over the Capital Teas brand and operated exclusively in online and wholesale channels. In October 2024, the company changed ownership and relocated to Fredericksburg, Virginia.
From 2007 to 2014, Capital Teas was privately owned by co-founders Peter Martino and Manelle Martino who operated six street-front retail tea stores in Maryland, D.C., and Northern Virginia. In March 2014, Capital Teas received its first $5 million investment from Pear Tree Partners, based in Massachusetts, and began rapidly expanding the brand to 24 stores, with most expansion stores in large shopping malls in eight states. [3] Subsequent investments through Pear Tree Partners made their investment funds the majority shareholders. After several years of success where Capital Teas, Inc. was named to the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest growing companies in America in 2016 and 2017, [4] the rapidly changing retail environment resulted in the company closing many of its expansion stores due to declining foot traffic in shopping malls. [5] In August 2018, the company closed its remaining stores. In October 2018, Anchor Beverages, Inc., a new company started by Peter Martino, one of the original co-founders, took over operations of the Capital Teas brand as an e-Commerce company. In late 2022, Anchor Beverages opened a holiday Capital Teas store at the Annapolis Mall [6] to test viability of returning to limited brick and mortar operations. In October 2024, the company was sold in a private sale, [7] and its headquarters relocated to Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Capital Teas has been recognized as an innovator in the tea industry with products such as their tea and alcohol infusions including Tea Lager Beer Enhancers and Vino Teano Wine Mixers. [8]
The signature teas of the Capital Teas brand include Capital Breakfast, Annapolis Treasures, [9] Chesapeake Sunrise, Turmeric Ginger, Island Mango, and Roasted Almond. [10] The majority of the teas sold under the Capital Teas brand are USDA-certified organic, and nearly all its teas contain only natural ingredients.
Cross County Center is an open-air shopping mall located at the junction of the NYS Thruway and Cross County Parkway, in the Kimball neighborhood of Yonkers, New York, United States. The mall is managed by Marx Realty and hosts over 100 stores and restaurants. Anchor stores are Macy's and Target. The mall features prominent specialty retailers such as Armani Exchange, Zara, Michael Kors, Guess, Invicta Watch, and Steve Madden, in addition to Showcase Cinemas.

The Mills Corporation was a publicly traded real estate investment trust headquartered in Chevy Chase, Maryland, United States, acquired on April 3, 2007, by an investment group composed of Simon Property Group and Farallon Capital Management. The company developed, owned, and operated major super-regional shopping malls. The company built 18 "Landmark" centers in which the malls were named after "Mills", like "Vaughan Mills", or "St. Louis Mills"; and also over 20 "21st Century Retail" regional malls that they started operating in 2002, like Del Amo Fashion Center and Southdale Center. Most former Mills facilities have a large movie theater from 10 to 30 screens, and a large food court. Their facilities were normally built in colorful modern/abstract architectural designs, but in recent years have been renovated to more conventional designs with mainly neutral colors. Simon Property Group assumed management of the former Mills properties after the acquisition, and is operating the former "Landmark Mills" group as a separate operating segment within its organization.
Arundel Mills is a shopping mall located in unincorporated Anne Arundel County, Maryland. It is 59.3% owned by Simon Property Group, who manages the mall. With its 1,930,820 sq ft (179,379 m2) GLA, it is the largest mall in the state of Maryland. Developed by The Mills Corporation, the mall is located at the intersection of Maryland Route 100 and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway in northwestern Anne Arundel County. The anchor stores are Cinemark Theatres, Books-A-Million, The Children's Place, TJ Maxx, Burlington, Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse, Sun and Ski Sports, Old Navy, MD Furniture, Bass Pro Shops, Saks Fifth Avenue, Ulta Beauty, Dave & Buster's, Yard House, and Primark.
Lakeforest Mall, formally the Lakeforest Regional Mall, also known as Lakeforest, is an abandoned enclosed shopping mall located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The property is currently owned by WRS Inc. Real Estate Investments who is planning to redevelop the site. The mall closed to the public on March 31, 2023. The mall featured a food court, and until 2013, formerly a large children's play area at the center. Following the closure of three of its four anchor stores, JCPenney, Lord & Taylor, and Sears in 2019, Macy's remained as the mall's final remaining anchor store until 2023, with the rest of the mall closing shortly after. Following its closure, the mall is set to be demolished the following year at the soonest.
Bonton Holdings Inc. operating as Bonton was an American department store chain and group founded in 1898. The former York, Pennsylvania-based company BonTon filed for bankruptcy in February 2018 and sold the name to CSC Generation, which sold it to BrandX.com in 2021, operating an e-commerce site under the brand name. Along with Bergner's, Boston Store, Carson's, Elder-Beerman, Herberger's, and Younkers, the names of most of the defunct retail group's department store chains are owned by BrandX.
White Marsh Mall is a regional shopping mall in the unincorporated and planned community of White Marsh, Maryland. It is one of the largest regional malls in the Baltimore metropolitan area, with 6 anchor stores and 134 specialty shops in 1,200,000 square feet (110,000 m2). The mall is anchored by Macy's, Macy's Home Store, Boscov's, JCPenney and Dave & Buster's. White Marsh Mall is the fourth largest mall in the Baltimore area, behind Towson Town Center, Arundel Mills Mall and Annapolis Mall. It is adjacent to an IKEA store and The Avenue at White Marsh shopping center.
Central Park is a shopping complex in Fredericksburg, Virginia, with 166 businesses. The complex is located near the intersection of Interstate 95 and State Route 3. Many national big-box stores, restaurants, and smaller local businesses occupy the Central Park complex. The complex has 2,200,000 square feet (200,000 m2) of leased retail space. The complex's developer, the Silver Companies, describes Central Park as "The East Coast's Largest Power Retail Center". In the 2004 rankings from the American Studies Department at Eastern Connecticut State University, Central Park was ranked as the largest unenclosed mall on the East Coast, and as the seventh largest mall in the United States.
Miller & Rhoads was a Virginia-based department store chain. Throughout its 105-year lifespan, the store played an active role in the Richmond, Virginia, community, along with its friendly cross-street rival Thalhimers. The Richmond flagship location was known for its "SantaLand" upstairs attraction, which has since become an attraction at the Children’s Museum of Richmond. Following a series of ownership changes starting in 1967, Campeau Corporation purchased Miller & Rhoads in 1987 and later sold it to Philadelphia developer Kevin Donohoe and store management before closing in 1990.

Arden Fair is a two-level regional shopping mall located on Arden Way in Sacramento, California, United States. It consists of over 150 tenants, encompassing over 1,100,000 square feet (100,000 m2) of retail space. The mall features the traditional retailers Macy's and JCPenney as anchor stores. It is locally owned by Fulcrum Property and operated by Centennial Real Estate Company.
Annapolis Mall is a shopping mall in Parole, just east of the intersection of Interstate 97 and U.S. Route 50 and in close proximity to the mall's namesake of Annapolis, Maryland. Owned and managed by Centennial Real Estate Management, the mall features 1,416,744 sq ft of GLA, making it the second-largest shopping mall in Maryland after Arundel Mills. As of 2022, the mall features two traditional anchors Macy's and JCPenney, as well as an 11-screen AMC Theatres and prominent specialty retailers such as Forever 21, The Container Store and Crate & Barrel.
Livingston Mall is a two-level shopping mall located in Livingston, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The mall has a gross leasable area of 968,820 sq ft (90,006 m2). Located near the Passaic River close to neighboring Morris County, it serves customers from Essex, Morris and Union counties. The mall is anchored by Macy's and Barnes & Noble.

Anchor Blue Inc. was an American clothing retailer which had over 100 stores in the western United States. It generally sold its own Anchor Blue brand name of youth-oriented denim, graphic T-shirts and casual clothing. Sometimes the company was referred to as the Anchor Blue Inc., but their retail clothing chain of stores was labeled as Anchor Blue. The Anchor Blue and Miller's Outpost brands were acquired by Perry Ellis International in 2012.

Security Square Mall is a mall in Woodlawn, Baltimore County, Maryland, a suburb of Baltimore, in the United States. The mall features over 100 stores and restaurants, as well as a food court. One section of the mall, Grand Village Plaza, previously included Korean shops and restaurants; however, most of these establishments had closed by 2010. Security Square Mall is located adjacent to the North American School of Trades. The anchor stores are Bayit Furniture, Set the Captives Free Outreach Center, Burlington, and Macy's. There is 1 vacant anchor store that was once Sears.
Capital Plaza Mall was a shopping mall located at the intersection of Annapolis Road and the Baltimore–Washington Parkway in Landover Hills, Maryland. It was built between 1961 and 1963, as a regional shopping center to serve the Bladensburg and Landover area of suburban Washington, D.C. The mall was a major attraction in Prince George's County, until its slow decline that began in the 1970s. This continued until the mall's closure in 2005, and ultimately its demolition in 2007. Part of the grounds are now occupied by a Wal-Mart store.
Marley Station Mall is an enclosed shopping mall in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Opened in 1987, it was expanded in 1994 and 1996. The mall had 130 stores on 2 floors, a movie theater, and 5 anchor spaces. JCPenney, Macy's, and Golds Gym serve as the mall's current anchor tenants. The other two anchor spaces were occupied by Boscov's until 2008, and Sears until 2021.
