Carl Lorenz Cervantes (born November 27, 1994) is a Filipino actor and author.

Personal life

Cervantes graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the Ateneo de Manila University. He also obtained a MA degree in Counseling Psychology from the same institution. He became known after joining GMA Network’s reality show, Starstruck 6. Since then, he has bagged various roles in GMA shows such as Magpakailanman, Maynila, and Meant To Be. [1] He has also appeared as a guest or segment host in various shows on GMA News and Public Affairs, such as Good News and AHA!. [2] In 2020, he went viral for dressing up as the mayor of Pasig city, Vico Sotto. [3]

Interests

Cervantes has a social media page on the psychology of Philippine spirituality. [4] He has also written a short book on the matter. [5]

Filipino psychology, or Sikolohiyang Pilipino, in Filipino, is defined as the philosophical school and psychology rooted on the experience, ideas, and cultural orientation of the Filipinos. It was formalized in 1975 by the Pambansang Samahan sa Sikolohiyang Pilipino under the leadership of Virgilio Enriquez, who is regarded by many as the father of Filipino Psychology. Sikolohiyang Pilipino movement is a movement that created to address the colonial background in psychology in the country. It focuses on various themes such as identity and national consciousness, social awareness, and involvement, and it uses indigenous psychology to apply to various fields such as religion, mass media, and health.

Aksyon Demokratiko or simply Aksyon is a political party in the Philippines founded by Raul Roco. It was recognized as a national political party in 1998 by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and is considered to be one of the major parties in the Philippines. Former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno currently acts as president of the party.

He served a total of four terms in the Senate: 1992 to 2004 and 2010 to 2022, tying the record for the longest-serving Senator with Lorenzo Tañada and Franklin Drilon.
