Carla Rhodes is a wildlife conservation photographer known for her engaging and impactful photographic stories featuring the natural world. She gravitates towards photographing misunderstood subjects, such as endangered Greater Adjutant storks, and overlooked “common” species.

After seeing Shari Lewis and Lamb Chop on television at the age of 9, Rhodes taught herself ventriloquism. She began performing professionally at the age of 13 in a Louisville, Kentucky magic shop. By the age of 15, she was performing regularly at the local comedy club. [1]

She famously created and performed the sock puppet Lamb Chop, for Captain Kangaroo in March 1956 and then continued on the early seasons (1957–1959) of Hi Mom, a local morning television show which aired on WRCA-TV in New York City.

Barret Eugene Hansen, known professionally as Dr. Demento, is an American radio broadcaster and record collector specializing in novelty songs, comedy, and strange or unusual recordings dating from the early days of phonograph records to the present. Hansen created the Demento persona in 1970 while working at Pasadena, California station KPPC-FM. He played "Transfusion" by Nervous Norvus on the radio, and DJ "The Obscene" Steven Clean said that Hansen had to be "demented" to play it, and the name stuck. His weekly show went into syndication in 1974 and was syndicated by the Westwood One Radio Network from 1978 to 1992. Broadcast syndication of the show ended on June 6, 2010, but the show continues to be produced weekly in an online version.
