The Carlyon Bay Covered Court Championships [1] was a combined men's and women's indoor wood court tennis tournament founded in 1936. The tournament was held at the Riviera Club, St. Austell, Cornwall, England until 1967.

History

In the early 1930s the Cornish Riviera Club was constructed that included two large indoor tennis courts. [2] In 1936 Carlyon Bay Covered Court Championships were established. In the late 1960s the tournament was ended due to the venue becoming a live music venue and was renamed as the New Cornish Riviera Lido. [3] The venue later became known as the Cornwall Coliseum.

The East Gloucestershire Championships was a combined men's and women's grass court tennis tournament founded in 1879 as the Cheltenham Lawn Tennis Championships. In 1904 it was renamed the East Gloucestershire Championships after it moved to a new venue. It ran annually with breaks until 1969.

The Clean Air Classic and also known as the New York Indoor was a men's and women's open international indoor carpet court tennis tournament founded in 1971. It was organised by the USTA with the finals played at Seventh Regiment Armory, New York City, United States until 1972. This international tournament was part of the ILTF Independent Tour, until 1972 when it was discontinued.

The New England Indoor Championships was a men's and women's tennis tournament founded in 1932. Also known in its early years as the New England Covered Court Championships, it was first organised by the New England Lawn Tennis Association and played at the Longwood Covered Courts, Longwood Cricket Club, Longwood, Massachusetts, United States and plaued on wood courts then later switching to carpet courts. The event was held in different locations until 1973 as part of the ILTF Independent Circuit when it was discontinued.
