Cat Butt was a Seattle, Washington rock group, formed in 1987. Initially, the band did a short West Coast tour, and then went on to record their first full-length album, Journey to the Center Of, which was produced by Jack Endino of Skin Yard. To promote the album, the band did a large U.S. tour, before disbanding in late 1990. Although not as successful as other Sub Pop bands, they maintained a loyal cult following in the Pacific Northwest.
The band is referenced in the first verse of the Guided by Voices song "Pendulum", from their 1990 album Same Place the Fly Got Smashed : "Come on over tonight; we'll put on some Cat Butt and do it up right."

Summer 1988–1990: Journey to the Center Of
Price continued to work with The U-Men. He then left to form The Kings of Rock, and formed Gas Huffer in 1989. Ryan remained with the U-Men. Bland joined The Dwarves, and then joined the Best Kissers in the World with Mark Wooten of Zipgun. He was later replaced by Paul Schurr of Flop, and is now the manager for the Supersuckers. Peterson went on to play with John the Baptist until 1993, and then joined The Purdins, which disbanded in early 2000. Duet formed Bottle of Smoke, with Ryan and Price in the lineup, which disbanded around 2004. Gunderson joined guitarist Tim Kerr in Austin to form Jack O' Fire, which disbanded in 1996. Duet and Gunderson live in Los Angeles and formed the band Hot for Chocolate in 2006. Burdyshaw went on to form the bands Yummy Fur, The Sinister Six, and his current band, The Bug Nasties.

The Animals are an English rock band formed in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1963. The Animals' original lineup consisted of deep-voiced frontman Eric Burdon, guitarist Hilton Valentine, bass guitarist Chas Chandler, keyboardist Alan Price, and drummer John Steel. Known for their gritty, bluesy sound, they balanced tough, rock-edged pop singles against rhythm-and-blues-orientated album material, and were part of the British Invasion of the US.
Rapeman was an American noise rock band founded in 1987 and disbanded in 1989. It consisted of Steve Albini on guitar and vocals, David Wm. Sims on bass and Rey Washam on drums. In the years since their brief tenure, Rapeman’s sound has also been described as post-hardcore.
Foghat are an English rock band formed in London in 1971. The band is known for the use of electric slide guitar in its music. Their best known song is the 1975 hit Slow Ride. The band has achieved eight gold albums, one platinum and one double platinum album, and despite several line-up changes, continue to record and perform.
Q and Not U was a post-hardcore band from Washington, D.C., signed to Dischord Records. Members John Davis, Harris Klahr, Christopher Richards, and Matt Borlik formed the band in 1998. After Borlik's departure following the release of their first album, the band went on to record two more critically acclaimed LPs as a three-piece, exploring aspects of dance-punk and other disparate musical styles. Q and Not U disbanded in September 2005 after completing their touring commitments and a short farewell stand at Washington, D.C. venue the Black Cat.
The U-Men was an American rock band, formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1980 and active until 1989. They toured extensively across the United States. Their musically "dirty" sound and off-the-wall sense of humor were a forerunner for the later grunge bands to come out of Seattle.

Dusty Hayes was the band's drummer from their formation until 1999, and was replaced by Jason Finn. They released two studio albums, Carrots & So On (1998) and Hello Jupiter (2000), before disbanding in 2001.
Butts Band was a British and American group formed by ex-Doors members John Densmore and Robby Krieger, active from 1973 to 1975. The band released two albums and, with the exception of Krieger and Densmore, they consisted of different band personnel on each.

Best Kissers in the World is an American rock band from Seattle, Washington, formed in 1989 in Phoenix, AZ.
The Blamed is an American Christian hardcore punk band currently based out of Chicago. During their tenure they have played primarily hardcore punk, pop punk, punk rock, and emo music with some influences from metal as well. They originally are from California having relocated to Illinois after guitarist Bryan Gray moved to Chicago. The band originally formed in 1994 and disbanded in 2003. Members during this era of the band included Bryan Gray, Christopher Wiitala, Trevor Wiitala, Jeff Locke, Jim Chaffin, John Hansen, and Matt Switaj. They have released three albums, with Tooth & Nail Records, 21 in 1994, Frail in 1996, and Give Us Barabbas in 2002. The band released four albums, with Grrr Records, ...Again in 1998, Forever in 1999, Germany in 2000, and Isolated Incident in 2001. The band reformed in the summer of 2016 to play a one-off set at Audio Feed music festival. This has since lead to the band reforming and recording a split EP with the Chicago hardcore band The Satire, a band sharing multiple members with the Blamed. The split EP was released in November 2018 through Indivision Music.
Janus Stark are an English experimental punk rock band from Peterborough, England. Their album, Great Adventure Cigar, was highly rated by Foo Fighters and Die Toten Hosen and was a fusion of Punk rock, hard rock, heavy metal and alternative with influences from Helmet to The Ruts to The Beatles to The Clash. Formed by former English Dogs/UK Subs guitarist Gizz Butt, Janus Stark released their album Great Adventure Cigar in 1998 on Earache Records. Butt was also playing guitar for The Prodigy while they were touring on the back of Fat Of The Land. Their name comes from a character, Janus Stark, in the seventies comic books Smash and Valiant. They are also known for Butt's guitar playing. Ben Hughes commented on RPM online "The thing that sets Janus Stark apart from their contemporaries is the fact that Gizz is a shredder. While ‘Angel In The Flames’ is littered with turn of the Century pop punk sensibilities, buzzsaw guitars and full band harmonies, there is a more technical and aggressive element in place thanks to Gizz's guitar histrionics. Yet, while the lyrics are socially and politically aware, and the riffs crunchy, it's the melodies that always shine through, they are pure sugar for the soul."
Bloodloss was an Australian post-punk, grunge band formed in 1982. The original line-up was Martin Bland on drums, Renestair E.J. on guitar and saxophone, Jim Selene on bass guitar, and Sharron Weatherill on lead vocals and guitar. They issued five albums: Human Skin Suit, The Truth Is Marching In (1990), In-a-Gadda-Da-Change (1993), Live My Way and Misty (1996).
