Caterina Barloggio (born 29 August 1996) is a retired Swiss artistic gymnast. [2] She competed in three European Championships and four World Championships. [3]
Caterina Barloggio was born on 29 August 1996 in Lavertezzo. She graduated from the Federal High School of Sports in Macolin, and she speaks English, French, German, and Italian. [4]
Barloggio competed at the 2012 European Championships and helped the Swiss team finish 11th in the qualification round. [5]
At the 2014 FIG World Cup in Osijek, Barloggio competed on the floor exercise and finished 13th in the qualification round. [6] She won the silver medal in the all-around at the 2014 Swiss Championships behind Giulia Steingruber. [7] She competed at the 2014 World Championships alongside Steingruber, Nicole Hitz, Ilaria Käslin, Laura Schulte, and Stefanie Siegenthaler, and they finished 19th in the qualification round. [8]
At the 2015 Cottbus World Cup, Barloggio finished 6th on the uneven bars and on the balance beam. [9] She then competed at the 2015 European Championships and finished 24th in the all-around during the qualification round, but she did not qualify for the all-around final due to the two-per-country rule as she finished behind Giulia Steingruber and Jessica Diacci. [10] She then competed for Switzerland at the 2015 European Games alongside Steingruber and Diacci, and they finished 6th in the team competition. [11] At the 2015 Swiss Championships, she won the bronze medal on the uneven bars and finished 6th in the all-around. [12] She then competed at the 2015 World Championships with Steingruber, Diacci, Nicole Hitz, Ilaria Käslin, and Laura Schulte, and they finished 16th in the qualification round, which qualified them for the 2016 Olympic Test Event. At the 2016 Olympic Test Event, Barloggio competed with Thea Brogli, Ilaria Käslin, Laura Schulte, Stefanie Siegenthaler, and Giulia Steingruber, and they placed 6th- which meant they failed to qualify as a full team for the 2016 Olympic Games. [14] The same team except for Schulte then competed at the 2016 European Championships where they finished 4th behind Russia, Great Britain, and France. [15] She competed at the 2017 Summer Universiade, but she did not qualify for any event finals.[ citation needed ]
At the 2018 Swiss Championships, Barloggio won the silver medal on the balance beam behind Ilaria Käslin. [16] She then competed at the 2018 World Championships with Käslin, Leonie Meier, Stefanie Siegenthaler, and Anina Wildi, and they finished 21st in the qualification round. [17] She competed at the Arthur Gander Memorial and won the silver medal on the balance beam behind Flavia Saraiva. [18]
Barloggio competed at the 2019 Swiss Championships, and she won the silver medal on the uneven bars behind Stefanie Siegenthaler and on the floor exercise behind Giulia Steingruber. [19] She then competed at the 2019 World Championships with Siegenthaler, Steingruber, Ilaria Käslin, and Anny Wu, and they finished 17th in the qualification round. [20]
Barloggio retired on 15 October 2020 in order to concentrate on her studies. [1] [3]
Larisa Andreea Iordache is a Romanian former artistic gymnast. She represented Romania at the 2012 Olympic Games, winning a bronze medal with the team, and at the 2020 Olympic Games.
Diana Laura Bulimar is a Romanian artistic gymnast and a 2-time European Champion with Romania. She was part of the Romanian team at the 2012 Summer Olympics that won the bronze medal.
Giulia Steingruber is a Swiss retired artistic gymnast. She is the 2016 Olympic and 2017 World bronze medalist on vault. Additionally, she is the 2015 European all-around champion, a four-time European vault champion and the 2016 European floor exercise champion.
Ilaria Marina Käslin is a retired Swiss artistic gymnast. She competed at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships from 2013 to 2015 and in 2019.
Gaia Nesurini is a retired Swiss artistic gymnast who represented her country at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics.
Eythora Elisabet Thorsdottir is a Dutch artistic gymnast. She competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics where she finished ninth in the individual all-around. At the 2017 European Championships, she won a silver medal on balance beam and a bronze medal on floor exercise. She is also the 2019 European floor exercise silver medalist and the 2023 European bronze medalist with the Dutch team.
Tisha Manouk Gijs Volleman is a Dutch artistic gymnast and a member of the national team. She won a bronze medal with the Dutch team at the 2018 European Championships. She represented the Netherlands at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Barbora Mokošová is a Slovak artistic gymnast. She is the 2020 European bronze medalist on the uneven bars and the first gymnast representing Slovakia to receive a medal at the European Championships. She represented Slovakia at the 2016 and 2020 Olympic Games. She is also a two-time World Challenge Cup champion on the uneven bars.
Hatakeda Hitomi is a Japanese former artistic gymnast who competed at the 2020 Olympic Games. She is the 2019 Summer Universiade champion in the team, all-around, uneven bars, and balance beam. She is also the 2020 American Cup all-around bronze medalist.
Nazlı Savranbaşı is a Turkish artistic gymnast. She represented Turkey at the 2020 Summer Olympics and at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics. She is the 2019 Mersin World Challenge Cup champion on the uneven bars. She is the 2020 Turkish all-around champion and the 2018 Turkish junior all-around champion.
Lee Yun-seo is a South Korean artistic gymnast. She is the 2022 Asian uneven bars and team silver medalist and all-around, uneven bars, and floor exercise bronze medalist. She has competed at four World Championships, and she represented South Korea at the 2020 Summer Olympics, the 2024 Summer Olympics and at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics.
Lihie Raz is an Olympic artistic gymnast. Born in the United States, she represents Israel internationally. She won the bronze medal on the floor exercise at the 2020 European Championships, which was Israel's first medal at the European Women's Artistic Gymnastics Championships. She is also the 2019 and 2021 Israeli all-around champion. She represented Israel at the 2020 Summer Olympics and finished 59th in the all-around during qualifications, but did not advance to any finals. Raz represented Israel at the 2024 Paris Olympics, and came in 16th in the Women's vault, and 31st in the Women's All-Around qualification with a score of 51.632, just missing the final that had a cutoff of 51.698.
