Robinson broke the baseball color line when he started at first base for the Brooklyn Dodgers on April 15, 1947. Eddie Gay Robinson Sr. was an American football coach. During a period in college football history when black players were not allowed to play for southern college programs, Robinson built Grambling State into a "small" college football powerhouse. Robinson is arguably the most successful college football coach in FCS history and has the third most victories in college football history.
John Alexander Robinson is a former American football player and coach best known for his two stints as head coach of the University of Southern California (USC) football team and for his tenure as head coach of the NFL's Los Angeles Rams (1983–1991). Robinson's USC teams won four Rose Bowls and captured a share of the national championship in the 1978 season. The Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers football program represents Kentucky Wesleyan College in college football as a member of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference at the NCAA Division II level. The college's football program began in 1907, lasting until 1930, when it was discontinued due to financial reasons. In 1982, the decision was made to re-establish a football program at the school, with the school resuming football operations the following year. Initially, the Panthers were an NCAA Division III team, unaffiliated with any conference, and also played only a season in the NAIA. The Bermuda national under-17 football team represents Bermuda in international football, and is controlled by the Bermuda Football Association, which is a member of the CONCACAF. The team compete in the CONCACAF U-17 Championship.
