Cedric is a Holsteiner horse which competes internationally in the sport of show jumping. With rider Laura Kraut, he was part of the gold medal-winning American team in the Beijing Olympics.

Life and career

Cedric is a gray Holsteiner gelding, [1] standing 15.2  hands (62 inches, 157 cm) high. He was foaled in Belgium and at the age of seven was purchased by American rider Laura Kraut, who took him to the United States and began competing on him. [2] Cedric and Kraut won the United States Equestrian Team's Olympic selection trial in 2008 and competed in the Beijing Olympic Games, winning team gold. [2] In 2014, Kraut and Cedric won the Holidays and Horses $50,000 Grand Prix competition. [1] In early 2015, they won the Trump Invitational Grand Prix. [3] Later the same year, Traut and Cecil won the $150,000 Ocala Grand Prix in Florida. [4]

Ben Maher British equestrian

Benjamin Richard Maher MBE is a British show jumper. He represented Britain at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, 2009 European Championships in Windsor, 2012 London Olympics, 2016 Rio Olympics and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He won the team jumping gold at the London Olympics with Team GB, their first team jumping gold medal for 60 years, and an individual gold for Great Britain at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He also won bronze at the 2011 Europeans Championships in Madrid, Spain. He has won many international Grand Prix, including the Olympia Grand Prix, the King George V Gold Cup at Hickstead and an FEI World Cup Qualifier Grand Prix at Wellington with various rides.

Leslie Burr-Howard is an American equestrian and an Olympic champion in showjumping. She won team gold at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and team silver at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, as well as team silver at the 1999 Winnipeg Pan American Games.

Authentic (show jumping horse)

Authentic, nicknamed "Bud", is a Dutch Warmblood gelding that used to compete in show jumping. He has won three Olympic medals and two World Equestrian Games medals. He is owned by Abigail Wexner, and was ridden by Olympic medalist Beezie Madden. Authentic is a bay with a star and snip and stands 16.1 hands high. He was retired from competition in 2009 and is now in Cazanovia, NY, at the Madden's farm.

Laura Tomlinson MBE is a German-born British dressage rider competing at Olympic level. As of 30 June 2012 the Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI) ranked her 3rd in the world riding Mistral Højris and 36th on Andretti H. In that year, Tomlinson, riding Mistral Højris under her maiden name of Laura Bechtolsheimer, won two medals in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London; gold for Great Britain in the team dressage with Carl Hester and Charlotte Dujardin, the first ever Olympic team gold in the discipline for her country, and bronze in the individual dressage behind gold medalist and compatriot Dujardin.
