The Center for Environmental Philosophy is a non-profit organization that supports a range of scholarly activities that explore philosophical aspects of environmental problems. It publishes the scholarly journal Environmental Ethics . The center best known for this leading journal in the field of environmental philosophy and is widely regarded as establishing the field of environmental ethics and is considered to be the leading scholarly forum about environmental philosophy. In addition to the publication of its journal, the Center promotes graduate education and postdoctoral research in environmental philosophy, and supports the development of international perspectives on global environmental problems. The Center for Environmental Philosophy is located at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas.
The center was established in 1989 by Environmental Philosophy, Inc. as a center for its various activities in publishing, research, and education. The center moved to the University of North Texas in 1990 and was given the status of an affiliated organization in 1991.[ citation needed ]

Environmental studies is a multidisciplinary academic field which systematically studies human interaction with the environment. Scientometrics is the field of study which concerns itself with measuring and analysing scholarly literature. Scientometrics is a sub-field of informetrics. Major research issues include the measurement of the impact of research papers and academic journals, the understanding of scientific citations, and the use of such measurements in policy and management contexts. Omora Ethnobotanical Park is a protected area of Chile located 4 km (2 mi) west of Puerto Williams on Navarino Island in the extreme southern Magellan and Chilean Antarctica Region. Between the Species: A Journal for the Study of Philosophy and Animals is a peer-reviewed academic journal devoted to philosophical examinations of human relationships with other animals. It is, in part, a continuation of Ethics & Animals (E&A), a journal which ran from 1980 to 1984. Between the Species was founded as a print journal in 1985, published by the Schweitzer Center of the San Francisco Bay Institute/Congress of Cultures. The print version ceased publication in 1996. It was revived as an open access online-only journal in 2002. It is published by the Philosophy Department and Digital Commons at the California Polytechnic State University; Joseph Lynch is the current editor-in-chief.
