Century High School is a four-year public secondary school in Pocatello, Idaho, United States. [5] Opened in 1999, it serves the southeast portion of the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District #25, and is the newest of the district's three traditional high schools.

Contents

Residents of the Idaho State University properties which house university students with dependent children, [6] McIntosh Manor (Building #57), [7] [8] Pulling Courts (Building #53), [9] [10] and Ridge Crest Townhomes (Building #54), [8] [11] are zoned to Century High School. [12]

Athletics

Century competes in athletics in IHSAA Class 4A, the second-highest classification in the state. It is currently a member of the Great Basin (East) Conference, with Pocatello and Preston. The volleyball team won a third consecutive 4A state title in the fall of 2012. The football team won three state 4A titles in four seasons from 200003, [13] as did the girls soccer team (200306). [14]

It is the oldest of the three traditional high schools of the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District and serves the southwest portion. The school colors are red, blue, and white. The mascot was an "Indian"; the city's namesake, Chief Pocatello, was the leader of the Shoshone people. The mascot was changed to the Thunder in June 2021 due to insensitivity.

Bonneville High School is a four-year public secondary school near Idaho Falls, Idaho. Northeast of the city, it opened in 1951 and is the original high school of the Bonneville Joint School District #93, which consolidated ten smaller districts east of Idaho Falls. The original building for high school was turned into a junior high in 1977 when the current Bonneville High School was built. A second traditional high school in the district opened in 1992, Hillcrest in Ammon. In 2018 a third high school was opened, Thunder Ridge. The school colors are green and gold and the mascot is a bee. Current enrollment is approximately 1,400. In 1950 the vote was put forward to bring together 10 little schools, some of them were Iona, Lincoln, Ammon, and Ucon. It passed however there was not a school for them to attend. The school that had the largest building at the time was Ammon so the high school students would attend there until a building could be built. The first class attended 1951 - 1952. As with some of the other new schools, the first graduating class could nominate the colors and mascot. The colors of a favorite football team was nominated, Green Bay Packers. In 1957 the "new" high school was built. It is the current Rocky Mountain Middle School. The students outgrew the high school and did split sessions in the 1970s while a new high school was being built next door. The first class to graduate from the current building was 1978.

Lake City High School, sometimes referred to as Lake City or LCHS, is a four-year public secondary school in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. The second high school in the city, LCHS opened in 1994 and draws from the southern and western areas of the Coeur d'Alene school district. The school's colors are navy blue, silver, and teal, and its mascot is the Timberwolf, which students commonly refer to as T-Wizzy.

Rocky Mountain High School is a four-year public secondary school in Meridian, Idaho, west of Boise. Opened in the fall of 2008, it is the fifth major high school in the West Ada School District. As of 2015, Rocky Mountain has had the largest enrollment in the state, beating out neighboring rival Mountain View. The school colors are purple, black and silver and the mascot is a Grizzly bear.
