Lorencezo Chanlah Codrington is an Antiguan United Progressive Party politician,who was elected as Member of Parliament for All Saints West in the 2004 and 2009 general elections. [1]
Barbuda is an island and dependency located in the eastern Caribbean forming part of the twin-island state of Antigua and Barbuda as an autonomous entity. Barbuda is located approximately 30 miles (48 km) north of Antigua. The only settlements on the island are Codrington and its surrounding localities. Barbuda is a flat island with the western portion being dominated by Codrington Lagoon,and the eastern portion being dominated by the elevated plateau of the Barbuda Highlands,with salty ponds and scrubland spread throughout the island. The climate is classified as tropical marine.
The Battle of Navarino was a naval battle fought on 20 October 1827,during the Greek War of Independence (1821–1829),in Navarino Bay,on the west coast of the Peloponnese peninsula,in the Ionian Sea. Allied forces from Britain,France,and Russia decisively defeated Ottoman and Egyptian forces which were trying to suppress the Greeks,thereby making Greek independence much more likely. An Ottoman armada which,in addition to Imperial warships,included squadrons from the eyalets of Egypt and Regency of Algiers and Tunis,was destroyed by an Allied force of British,French and Russian warships. It was the last major naval battle in history to be fought entirely with sailing ships,although most ships fought at anchor. The Allies' victory was achieved through superior firepower and gunnery.

The pub was linked to the Codrington Family,who used to be based at Codrington Court before moving to nearby Dodington Park. The area also has a Baptist church in Wapley Road. HMS Codrington was the flotilla leader for the A-class destroyers built for the Royal Navy (RN) during the 1920s.
