Charles Anderson Combined School

Charles Anderson Combined School is a non-boarding government combined school in the Oshana Region of Namibia, [1] founded in 1999 and situated in Ongwediva. [2] Graduates frequently occupy the national Grade 10 top ten. The building of the school was funded by the Swedish government. The school is named after Charles John Andersson. The school teaches about 800 students from grade 1 to grade 10.

Education in Namibia is compulsory for 10 years between the ages of 6 and 16. There are approximately 1900 schools in Namibia of which 100 are privately owned. Namibian subjects' syllabi are based on the International General Certificate of Secondary Education which is part of Cambridge International. The Constitution directs the government to provide free primary education; however, families must pay fees for uniforms, stationery, books, hostels, and school improvements. Among sub-Saharan African countries, Namibia has one of the highest literacy rates.

Uuyoka Combined School is a government school in Uuyoka village in northern Namibia. It was established during the colonial era in 1961. The first lessons took place under the Camelthorn tree and lessons were given by local peoples. The school covers grades 1 to 10 and a kindergarten that was inaugurated in 2010 and has about 700 students.

Tsintsabis is a settlement of about 4,000 inhabitants in the Oshikoto Region of Namibia. It is situated c. 65 kilometres (40 mi) northeast of Tsumeb and belongs to the Guinas electoral constituency. The settlement features a clinic and a police station. Tsintsabis is not a proclaimed settlement. It is situated on farm land, some of which has been obtained by government to resettle landless people. The area is inhabited predominantly by San people but also by Damara, Ovambo and people from the Kavango Region.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Culture of Namibia</span>

Culture in Namibia is a blend of many different people and its culture and customs have absorbed both African and European elements and fused them into a blend of the two. Although the country is urbanising rapidly, a majority of Namibians still live in rural areas and lead largely impoverished lives. It is among these people, however, that cultural tradition survive most strongly.
