Charles Paraventi (born July 4, 1969) is an American-born Brazilian actor.
Paraventi was born in New York City, where he began his career doing magic shows for five years at a Brazilian club. As a child, he participated in several plays.

Manuel Deodoro da Fonseca was a Brazilian politician and military officer who served as the first president of Brazil. He was born in Alagoas in a military family, followed a military career, and became a national figure. Fonseca took office as provisional president after heading a military coup that deposed Emperor Pedro II and established the First Brazilian Republic in 1889, disestablishing the Empire. After his election in 1891, he stepped down the same year under great political pressure when he dissolved the National Congress. He died less than a year later.
City of God is a 2002 Portuguese-language epic crime film directed by Fernando Meirelles and co-directed by Kátia Lund. Bráulio Mantovani's script adapted from the 1997 novel of the same name written by Paulo Lins, but the plot is loosely based on real events. It depicts the growth of organized crime in the Cidade de Deus suburb of Rio de Janeiro, between the end of the 1960s and the beginning of the 1980s, with the film's closure depicting the war between the drug dealer Li'l Zé and vigilante-turned-criminal Knockout Ned.
