Charles den Tex (born 21 April 1952) is a Dutch writer.
Charles den Tex was born in Camberwell, Australia. His parents returned with him to the Netherlands when he was 6.
Den Tex studied Photography and Cinematography in London, then worked as an English teacher in Paris. He also worked as a copywriter in an advertising agency in Amsterdam. In 1980, he began working as communication consultant.
Charles den Tex published his first crime novel, Dump, in 1995. As of 2011 [update] he has written 10 crime novels, two short stories and a dictionary on the jargon of management and consultancy. Seven of his novels have been nominated to Gouden Strop Prize [1] and has received the prize for three.
He translated plays (Onze jeugd in 2003, Tape in 2005, Democraten in 2005 en Succes in 2006) and wrote the play Volmaakt Geluk (2008), That's Showbizz, Baby! (2010) and Blind Vertrouwen (2011).

He has won Best Swedish Crime Novel Award three times, and his novel Carambole won the prestigious Glass Key award in 2000. His books have been translated from Swedish into more than twenty languages.

The New York Times called the latter ‘grimly comic and unflinching (…) while not always enjoyable, it is never less than enthralling’. Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung described him as ‘the Dutch Philip Roth’.

Dirk, Knight Brossé is a Belgian conductor and composer. He has composed over 200 works, including concerti, oratorios, lieder, chamber music and symphonic works. Brossé has also composed extensively for stage, cinema, television. His score for the BBC/HBO series Parade's End (2012) was nominated for an Emmy Award. Dirk Brossé is currently Music Director of the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia and of the Ghent Film Festival. John Williams chose him as Principal Conductor of the Star Wars in Concert World Tour. Brossé is also professor of composition and conducting at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent. Dirk Brossé has conducted international orchestras, both at home and abroad. Amongst them, the London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic orchestra, Vancouver Opera, Opéra National de Lyon, BBC Concert Orchestra, Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Brussels, Antwerp, Rotterdam, Basel, Madrid, Porto, Birmingham, Ulster, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Seoul, Queensland, St Petersburg, Los Angeles and Boston. In 2008, he made his first appearance at the Royal Albert Hall in London, conducting the London Symphony Orchestra. In 2010, at the request of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, he wrote The Hallow-e'en Dances. This Halloween-inspired work is especially written for age-old, traditional Chinese instruments. Brossé recently composed Haiku Cycle 1, written for Jessye Norman and based on Haiku by Herman Van Rompuy.
Guus Kuijer is a Dutch author. He wrote books for children and adults, and is best known for the Madelief series of children's books. For his career contribution to "children's and young adult literature in the broadest sense" he won the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award from the Swedish Arts Council in 2012, the biggest prize in children's literature. As a children's writer he was one of five finalists for the biennial, international Hans Christian Andersen Award in 2008.

The Gouden Strop is the annual award for the best crime novel in the Dutch language. The prize has been awarded since 1986. The winner receives € 10,000 and a statuette. Its Belgian equivalent is the Diamanten Kogel.
The Diamanten Kogel is an annual award for the best original Dutch crime novel. It is awarded by the Genootschap van Vlaamse Misdaadauteurs in Belgium. The Gouden Strop is its counterpart in the Netherlands.
The Golden Book-Owl is a Belgian prize for original Dutch language literature. Originally it was named Golden Owl. It has been awarded annually since 1995.
