Charles Michael Thacker (born 10 August 1996) [1] is an English rugby union centre who plays for Nottingham in the RFU Championship, he previously played for Leicester Tigers in Premiership Rugby. Thacker made his Tigers debut on 1 November 2014 in a 17-16 win against London Irish in the Anglo-Welsh Cup. [2] He scored his first try for the club on 4 November 2017 against Gloucester again in the Anglo-Welsh Cup [3] and was named as the fans' man of the match for his performance. [4] [5] On 15 May 2019 he was announced as one of the players to leave Leicester following the end of the 2018-19 Premiership Rugby season. [6]

Thacker was born in Leicester. His elder brother is Bristol Bears hooker Harry Thacker, and his father Troy Thacker also played hooker for Leicester. [5]

The 2018–19 Premiership Cup was the 47th season of England's national rugby union cup competition and the first under the new Premiership Rugby Cup format following the disbanding of the Anglo-Welsh Cup at the end of the 2017–18 season due to the withdrawal of the Welsh Pro14 regions. Although there are no stipulations on player selection, the cup will be seen by many clubs as a development competition, and games will take place during the Autumn International window and during the Six Nations.
