Charlotte Hudson (born 4 January 1972)[ citation needed ] is an English actress and television presenter. Hudson was born in Sheffield. [1] [2] Her brother is actor Robert Hudson. [1]

Education and early career

After attending Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, [3] Hudson started in television co-presenting BBC's Watchdog with Anne Robinson, replacing Alice Beer in 1999. [2] She presented What's the Story- and Are You Being Cheated for Channel 5. [4] [5] [2]

Career

She presented the Sky One television series Brainiac: History Abuse , a spin-off from the award-winning Brainiac: Science Abuse , which she also co-presented. [6] [7] Hudson has also appeared as an actress in various UK TV shows. She appeared as a guest on both Big Brother's Little Brother and Big Brother's Big Mouth . [8] [9]

Hudson also appeared in the sketch show Bruiser opposite Mitchell & Webb, Olivia Colman, Martin Freeman and Matthew Holness. [10] She was one half of comedy sketch double act Two Left Hands with comedian Leila Hackett, performing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August 2007 and 2009. [11]

In summer 2009, Hudson provided the in-game voiceover for the ITV show Divided .[ citation needed ] Between 2010 and 2012, she narrated the ITVBe programme Dinner Date . [12]

<i>Brainiac: Science Abuse</i> British entertainment documentary television series

Brainiac: Science Abuse is a British entertainment documentary show that aired on Sky One from 13 November 2003 to 30 March 2008. It was created by Executive Producer Stewart Morris and Andy Milligan. During each episode of the show, numerous experiments are carried out to verify whether common conceptions are true or simply to create impressive explosions. The experimenters on the show are referred to as "Brainiacs", and each episode usually finishes with the destruction of a caravan.

That's Life! was a TV consumer affairs programme on the BBC, at its height regularly reaching audiences of fifteen to twenty million, and receiving 10–15,000 letters a week. The series was broadcast on BBC1 for 21 years, from 26 May 1973 until 19 June 1994.

The programme focused on investigating complaints and concerns made by viewers and consumers over problematic experiences with traders, retailers and other companies around the UK, over customer services, products, security, and possible fraudulent/criminal behaviour. Since it first began, the programme had achieved great success in changing the awareness consumers have of their purchasing rights, as well as pushing forward for changes in company policies and consumer laws, and in some cases helping to close down businesses whose practices have left many people dissatisfied and out of pocket.
