Charlotte Lucas (born 29 May 1976) is an English actress. She is best known for her roles as Dr Kingsley in Not Going Out , EastEnders as Yvonne and Bad Girls as Selena Geeson.

Early life and education

Born into an acting family, Lucas is the daughter of actress Susan Travers and photographer Cornel Lucas. [1] Her grandmother was actress Linden Travers and her great-uncle was Bill Travers.

Lucas attended drama and theatre studies at Birmingham University, before concluding her studies at Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London.

Career

She is best known for her role as Selena Geeson in Bad Girls . She also starred in the 2003 film Oh Marbella!, as well as a number of other TV roles including EastEnders , Midsomer Murders , Doctors , Not Going Out , and an episode of Adventure Inc. when filming transferred to the UK for four episodes. Lucas played the role of Mrs Bassat in BBC One's 2014 adaptation of Daphne du Maurier's novel Jamaica Inn.

In 2017, she appeared in the third series of Broadchurch .

<i>Bad Girls</i> (TV series) TV series set in a womens prison

Bad Girls is a British television drama series that was broadcast on ITV from 1 June 1999 until 20 December 2006. It was created by Maureen Chadwick and Ann McManus of Shed Productions, who initiated the idea of developing a series primarily focusing on the inmates and staff of the fictional women's prison, Larkhall, located in the South London region. Following the success of previous series Within These Walls and the Australian-imported Prisoner: Cell Block H, both of which screened on ITV, Bad Girls was commissioned by the network and was viewed as a realistic, modern portrayal of life in a women's prison. The series featured a large ensemble cast, including Linda Henry, Claire King, Simone Lahbib, Mandana Jones, Debra Stephenson, Jack Ellis, Alicya Eyo, Helen Fraser, Kika Mirylees, Victoria Alcock, James Gaddas, Victoria Bush, Dannielle Brent and Liz May Brice.

Alicya Eyo is an English actress, best known for her roles as Denny Blood in the ITV prison drama series Bad Girls and Ruby Haswell in the ITV soap opera Emmerdale.

Susan Travers is a retired British film and television actress. She is the daughter of the actress Linden Travers, a niece of Bill Travers, and a cousin of actress Penelope Wilton. She played the role of Arlette Van der Valk, the detective's wife, in the series Van der Valk.

<i>Bad Girls</i> (series 6) Season of television series

The sixth series of British drama series Bad Girls premiered on 14 April 2004. It consists of twelve episodes. The first four episodes were broadcast on Wednesday nights, with episode five moved to Monday and episodes six to eight broadcast over consecutive nights beginning the following Monday. After a 12-week hiatus, the remaining episodes of the series were screened Monday nights and concluded on 23 August 2004.

Jessica Regan is an Irish actress, known for portraying the role of Niamh Donoghue in the BBC soap opera Doctors. For her portrayal of the role, she won the award for Best Female Acting Performance at the 2014 RTS Midlands Awards, as well as the award for Best Newcomer at the 2015 British Soap Awards. Following her departure from Doctors, she starred in the BBC series Ill Behaviour.
