Charlotte McShane (born 14 August 1990 in Wick, Scotland) is a Scottish born Australian professional triathlete and the 2013 U23 ITU World Triathlon Champion as well as the 2008 Xterra U20 World Champion.

McShane grew up in Helensburgh, Scotland, and in 2005 moved to a place near Bairnsdale, Victoria. Now she lives in Wollongong, New South Wales or Vitoria - Gasteiz, Spain and her coach is the NSWIS Head Coach Jamie Turner.

Sports career

In 2001, Charlotte McShane watched her father Frank at Kona and from then on she knew triathlon would be her passion. [1] She was a student at Glasgow School of Sport and in Scotland she won several national junior titles. In November 2005, her family moved to Australia and despite her young age Charlotte McShane started competing in long distance triathlons.

In 2008, at the age of 18, Charlotte McShane became the U20 Xterra World Triathlon Champion and was 2nd Amateur Female overall (16th including pro's) (26 October 2008, Wailea Maui) and placed 4th at the Elite Female Yeppoon 70.3 Half Ironman, 4th at the Elite Female Canberra 70.3 Half Ironman, and 6th at the Elite Female Oceania Long Distance Championships in Huskisson.

In 2009, McShane still concentrated on the long distance and won the gold medals at the Elite Female Victorian Olympic Distance Triathlon Championships, at the Elite Female Murrayman South Australian Long Distance Championships, and at the Elite Female Northern Territory Long Distance Championships. She placed 3rd at the Elite Female Shepparton 70.3 Half Ironman, and 4th at the Elite Female Canberra 70.3 Half Ironman.

In 2010, McShane returned to the Olympic Distance (Elite category) and took part in several ITU races. At Geneva, she won the European Cup silver medal and at the Grand Final of the World Championship Series in Budapest she represented Australia in the U23 category, despite having crashed during the cycle and breaking her ribs.

In 2013, McShane finished 20th Overall in the ITU World Series rankings, finishing 9th in Auckland, 10th in Yokohama, 18th in Madrid and 13th in Stockholm. She then won the ITU U23 World Championships in London.

ITU competitions

In the seven years from 2006 to 2012, McShane took part in 37 ITU events and achieved 16 top ten positions. In 2013, by the month of June McShane achieved two top ten positions in the World Triathlon circuit (Yokohama, Madrid). She turned professional at the end of 2005 after competing internationally for 3 years while teaching full-time at Whangarei Girls High School.

Julie Dibens

Julie Claire Dibens is a former professional triathlete. She represented Great Britain in the 2004 Summer Olympics and has won the 2009 Ironman 70.3 World Championship as well as the XTERRA Triathlon World Champion in 2007, 2008, and 2009. Dibens retired as a professional triathlete and is now a full time triathlon coach. She lives in Boulder, Colorado.

Melissa Hauschildt

Melissa Hauschildt is an Australian professional triathlete and former middle-distance runner. She is a 3-time World Champion, winning Gold at the 2011 and 2013 Ironman 70.3 World Championship as well as the 2013 ITU Long Distance Triathlon World Championships. She also won Silver at the 2016 Ironman 70.3 World Championships. In April 2018, Hauschildt set a new Ironman brand record of 8:31:05, at the Ironman North American Championships, breaking the previous record of 8:33:56 set by Chrissie Wellington in 2011.

Francisco Javier Gómez Noya is a Spanish triathlete. He is the winner of five ITU Triathlon World Championships, he holds three ITU Triathlon World Cup titles, and won the Silver medal for Spain at the 2012 Summer Olympics in men's triathlon. He has also won world titles for Ironman 70.3 and XTERRA Triathlon.

Laura Bennett (triathlete) American triathlete

Laura Marie Bennett is an American professional triathlete. She placed fourth in the women's triathlon at the 2008 Summer Olympics. In 2012, she finished 17th at the London Olympic Games. She earned a silver medal at the World Triathlon Championships in 2003 and bronze medals in 2004, 2005, and 2007. Charlotte Morel, is a French professional triathlete, twelve times National Champion in various duathlon and triathlon categories, e.g. National U23 Triathlon Champion of the years 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. Since 2006, Morel is a permanent member of the French National Team. In the French Club Championship Series, Morel represented the club Beauvais, which e.g. in 2006, 2009 and in 2010 won both the French Club Championship Series Lyonnaise des Eaux and the National Club Championships in Gruissan. From 2013 to 2016, however, Morel will represent Issy les Moulineaux because of Beauvais' complete retreat from the elite sports.

Mirinda Carfrae Australian triathlete

Mirinda Carfrae is an Australian professional triathlete and an Ironman Triathlon world champion. Carfrae has achieved podium positions in six of her seven attempts at the Ironman World Championships: 1st-place finishes, three 2nd-place finishes and a 3rd place. She also won the 2007 Ironman 70.3 World Championship.

Nicky Samuels New Zealand triathlete

Nicky Samuels is a New Zealand professional triathlete who has won the 2013 XTERRA Triathlon World Championship and the 2012 ITU Aquathlon World Championships. Flora Duffy Bermudian triathlete

Flora Jane Duffy is a Bermudian triathlete and Olympic gold medalist. She won a gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Bermuda's first gold medal. She also competed in the Olympics in Beijing, London, and Rio de Janeiro. In 2018, she won gold in the women's triathlon at the XXI Commonwealth Games in Australia. Mary Beth Ellis is retired American long-distance triathlete. She holds the record for the fastest iron-distance race by an American woman, set at Ironman Austria in 2011 with a time of 8:43:34. She is the 2015 ITU Long Distance Triathlon champion and has taken second place at both the 2008 and 2009 Ironman 70.3 World Championship. She has been named USA Triathlon's Non-Olympic/ITU Female Athlete of the Year for both 2011 and 2012.

Annabel Luxford Australian triathlete

Annabel Luxford is an Australian triathlete. In International Triathlon Union (ITU) competition she is the 2005 ITU Triathlon World Cup series champion and the silver medalist at the 2005 ITU Triathlon World Championships. In 2004, she was the ITU under-23 World Champion and also finished second in the ITU Triathlon World Cup standings. In 2013, after changing to non-drafing long course racing, she finished third at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships.

Melanie McQuaid Canadian triathlete

Melanie McQuaid is a Canadian triathlete. Competing in primarily XTERRA Triathlon, or cross triathlon, she has won three XTERRA World Championships as well as the ITU Cross Triathlon World Championship in 2011 and 2017. McQuaid also races in half-iron and Ironman 70.3 triathlon events, with half a dozen wins at this distance.

Elizabeth Julia Blatchford is an English professional triathlete. She has placed third at the 2013 and 2015 Ironman World Championship.

Kristian Blummenfelt Norwegian triathlete

Kristian Blummenfelt is a Norwegian triathlete and Olympic and World Champion Gold medalist, competing at short course, 70.3 (half-Ironman) and 140.6 (Ironman) distances. He won the gold medal in the men's triathlon at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan.
