The Wiradjuri people are a group of Aboriginal Australian people scattered throughout central New South Wales, united by common descent through kinship and shared traditions. They survived as skilled hunter-fisher-gatherers, in family groups or clans, and many still use knowledge of hunting and gathering techniques as part of their customary life.

An Australia international and New South Wales State of Origin representative second-row, he could also play centre and lock. He previously played for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, St. George Illawarra Dragons the Newcastle Knights and the Parramatta Eels. He was "renowned as a perennial niggler."
