Chepkoya is a village found in Kaptalelio sub-location, Kongit location, Kaptama division of Bungoma County in western Kenya. It borders a forest known as Chesamo. Many people in the village are farmers. It has the population of 2134 people according to the census conducted in 2009. It is the birthplace of famous runners such as Andrew Masai, [1] Edith Masai, [2] Titus Kwemoi and Gilbert Masai. Sprinter Joy Nakhumicha Sakari was also born there. [3]

Milo is a sub-location in Sitikho Location of Bungoma County, Kenya. It is headed by Emmanuel Murokoyo. He was one of Kenya's best cross country runners in the late 1980s, taking six team gold medals at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships. His best individual finish at that competition was sixth in 1987. He was key to the rise of Kenya in cross country, helping the nation to its first team title and scoring points which helped establish an unbeaten streak in the team race which lasted from 1986 to 2003.
