Chia Chou (born 1960) is a Taiwanese [1] [2] pianist, and a naturalised Canadian citizen. He settled in Germany in the 1980s.

He had his first public performance at the age of 7. [1] [2] In 1980–81, he won the Mendelssohn Competition [1] [2] [3] in Berlin and the second edition of the Sydney Competition; [1] [4] [2] [3] a wide international concert career ensued. In 1983 he became the first artist with Chinese ancestry living abroad to perform in China since the Cultural Revolution. [3]

Chou is a member of the Parnassus Trio since 1990 [1] [2] and a professor in Chamber Music at the Kunstuniversität Graz since 2004. [1] [5] [3]

<i>Lust, Caution</i> 2007 film

Lust, Caution is a 2007 erotic period espionage mystery romance film directed by Ang Lee, based on the 1979 novella by Eileen Chang. Lust, Caution is set in Hong Kong in 1938 and in Shanghai in 1942, when the city was occupied by the Imperial Japanese Army and ruled by the puppet government led by Wang Jingwei. The film depicts a group of Chinese university students from The University of Hong Kong who plot to assassinate a high-ranking special agent and recruiter working for the puppet government by luring him into a honey trap. The film is generally accepted to be based on the historical event of Chinese spy Zheng Pingru's failed attempt to assassinate the Japanese collaborator Ding Mocun.

The Sydney International Piano Competition is a music competition, presented in Sydney and broadcast live throughout Australia and internationally. It is held every four years, over a three-week period in July–August, and is internationally recognised as one of the world's great piano competitions. The 12th competition was originally scheduled to take place in July 2020 but has since been postponed due to Covid19.

Macau sent a delegation to compete at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 7–18 September 2016. This was the territory's eighth time competing at a Summer Paralympic Games since it debuted at the 1988 Summer Paralympics. The Macanese delegation to Rio consisted of one athlete, 18-year old swimmer Chen Yu Chia, who qualified for the Games by being granted a wild card place from the International Paralympic Committee in August 2016. His best finish was 17th in the men's 200 metre freestyle S14 tournament, and his other result was 19th in the men's 200 metre individual medley SM14.
