The Chicago Hitmen were a Junior A Tier II ice hockey team based out of the Chicago region.
The Chicago Hitmen played in the North American Hockey League from 2010 to 2012. The team first played in the 1,000-seat West Meadows Ice Arena in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. On June 4, 2010, the team announced that Steve Pronger was signed as head coach, coming to the Hitmen after serving as the head coach of the Chicago Blaze of the AAHL. [1]
Pronger was replaced prior to the 2011–12 season by Brent Agrusa. [2] The team also relocated to the Fox Valley Ice Arena in Geneva, Illinois on a five-year lease. During the 2011–12 season, the Hitmen were reportedly locked out of the Fox Valley Ice Arena due to unpaid bills. [3] The team and arena management came to short agreement to finish out the season but when the season was complete, the arena took the Hitmen owner ship to court over $100,000 in disputed charges. [4] The Hitmen folded prior to the 2012–13 season. [5]

The Hitmen organization began as the Chicago Force of the Central States Hockey League. That team continued to operate alongside the NAHL's Hitmen, and also were renamed as the Hitmen name for 2010–11. In November 2010, the CSHL fell under the direction of the NAHL and changed its name to the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL).
The Hitmen also fielded a team in the Great Lakes Junior Hockey League (GLJHL). The team previously played at the Tier III Jr. C level as the Chicago Huskies and played at the International Ice Center in Romeoville, Illinois. The league advanced to the Tier III Jr. B level beginning in the 2010–11 season. [6] This team would also fold in 2011 and the franchise was replaced by the Chicago Jr. Bulldogs.
The North American Hockey League (NAHL) is one of the top junior hockey leagues in the United States and is in its 44th season of operation in 2019–20. It is the only Tier II junior league sanctioned by USA Hockey, and acts as an alternative to the Tier I United States Hockey League (USHL). The NAHL is one of the oldest junior hockey leagues in the United States and is headquartered in Addison, Texas.
The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees were a Tier II Junior A ice hockey team playing in the North American Hockey League. The team was based in the Rio Grande Valley in Hidalgo, Texas, just south of McAllen, and played their home games at State Farm Arena.
The Eastern Junior Hockey League (EJHL) was a USA Hockey-sanctioned Tier III Junior A ice hockey league. Founded in 1993 by Dan Esdale, the EJHL had fourteen teams from across the Northeastern United States. The EJHL champion then competed for the National Championship against the champions of the other Tier III leagues and a host city. The New Jersey Hitmen were the final EJHL Champions after the 2012–13 season.
The Bozeman Icedogs are a Tier III Junior ice hockey team located in Bozeman, Montana. The team is a member of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL). The Icedogs play home games at the Haynes Pavilion located at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds.
The Detroit Jr. Red Wings are a defunct Tier II Junior "A" ice hockey team that was based out of Detroit, Michigan. They played out of the Southern Ontario Junior A Hockey League and were the feeder team for the National Hockey League's Detroit Red Wings.
The Topeka Pilots were a Tier II junior ice hockey team in the North American Hockey League's South Division. The team's home arena was Landon Arena in Topeka, Kansas. The team will relocate to the Kansas City area beginning with the 2020–21 season.
The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) is an American Tier III junior ice hockey league that consists of teams from Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Sanctioned by USA Hockey, for most of the league's existence, the winner of the NA3HL playoffs would advance to play for the Tier III National Championship, however, this has not been held since 2015.

The Janesville Jets are a Tier II junior ice hockey team in the North American Hockey League. Based in Janesville, Wisconsin, their home games are played at the Janesville Ice Arena.
The Fresno Monsters are a junior ice hockey team based in Fresno, California. The team is a member of the United States Premier Hockey League and plays in the Premier Division. The Monsters' home venue is Selland Arena, previously the home facility to the now defunct Fresno Falcons of the West Coast Hockey League and ECHL.
