Mädchen in Uniform is a 1931 German romantic drama film based on the play Gestern und heute by Christa Winsloe and directed by Leontine Sagan with artistic direction from Carl Froelich, who also funded the film. Winsloe also wrote the screenplay and was on the set during filming. Due to the film's overt and openly lesbian themes, the film remains an international cult classic.
Christa Winsloe, formerly Baroness Christa von Hatvany-Deutsch, was a German-Hungarian novelist, playwright and sculptor, best known for her play Gestern und heute, filmed in 1931 as Mädchen in Uniform and the 1958 remake. Winsloe was the first to write a play on female homosexuality in the Weimar Republic, yet without a "radical critique of the social discrimination of lesbian women."
Joseph George McParlane, known as Joe Valli, was a Scottish-Australian actor who worked in vaudeville and films. He had a long-running vaudeville partnership with Pat Hanna as "Chic and Joe".

They were narrated by swagman who tells stories he has collected during his time on the road. Each radio play went for 60 minutes included four mystery or ghost stories.
Australian Bride is a 1946 Australian radio serial. The show aired from Monday to Thursday nights.
The Queer Affair at Kettering is a 1940 Australian radio drama by Max Afford starring his detective hero Jeffrey Blackburn and his wife Elisabeth. Unlike many Blackburn adventures, it was not a serial but a one-off mystery.
The Night Watchman is a 1940 Australian radio series by Max Afford based on the story by W. Jacobs. It was an anthology series based on different stories by Jacobs, all narrated by a night watchman. The show replaced Afford's Grey Face.
