Chima Anyaso // ( Loudspeaker.svg listen ) (born Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso) is a Nigerian entrepreneur, politician and hotelier popularly known for his foray in the Nigerian downstream oil and gas sector. [1]

Early life and education

Anyaso had his undergraduate and post graduate education in the University of Lagos, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in English and a Master of Science degree in Management, respectively. [2]

Politics

In 2019 Anyaso won the party nomination to represent Bende Federal Constituency in Abia State, under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). However, he lost to All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Benjamin Kalu at the 2019 general elections. [3]

Enyinnaya is an outspoken senator often contributing to debates on national issues. He is a member of the major opposition People's Democratic Party, PDP in the Nigerian senate. He is currently the Minority leader in the senate. In January 2020, Abaribe during a motion against worsening insecurity in Nigeria, asked President Muhammadu Buhari to resign reminding president Buhari that Nigerians voted him into power in 2015 and renewed his mandate in 2019 to tackle the security situation in the country. Abaribe said Buhari had made a promise while campaigning for the presidency in 2015 that Nigerians should stone him (Buhari) out of government should he fail to improve the security situation in the country. “Nigerians voted a government into power. We are going with stones to stone them now because they have failed", Abaribe's motion in the senate concluded.

Bende is a Local Government Area in Abia State, Nigeria with headquarters located in Bende Community. Bende Local Government Area (L.G.A) of Abia state lies on 70 30I of the Greenwich Meridian and latitude 50 30I North of the Equator. It is composed of thirteen (13) communities, namely: Alayi, Bende, Ezukwu, Igbere, Item, Itumbuzo, Nkpa, Ntalakwu, Ozuitem, Ugwueke, Umu-imenyi, Umuhu-Ezechi, and Uzuakoli.

The elections will coincide with the 2023 presidential election, as well as other elections to the Senate, and elections to the House of Representatives; with state elections being held two weeks later. Primaries were held between 4 April and 9 June 2022.
