Chris King (born August 19, 1969) is a former American soccer player who played with various clubs in the National Professional Soccer League in the 1990s.
King began his professional career in 1991 when he was drafted by Dayton Dynamo of the National Professional Soccer League. He would play with Dayton for four seasons and appeared in 118 matches, and recorded 27 goals. [1] [2] In 1995, Dayton was purchased and relocated to Cincinnati to become Cincinnati Silverbacks, where he appeared in five matches and scored one goal. Midway through the season he was traded to Chicago Power, and appeared in 18 matches and recorded three goals. In 1996, Chicago was relocated to Edmonton, instead of signing a contract with Edmonton he decided to retire from competitive soccer. [3] [4]
After retiring from soccer he went into coaching and served as technical director for Ohio Premier Women's SC for fourteen years. On December 17, 2013, he was appointed director of coaching for Chicago Eclipse Select. [5]

He signed with Chicago Fire, and was named MLS Rookie of the Year after his first season. He played another season with Chicago before he was traded to Philadelphia Union. After spending his second season with Philadelphia on loan to the South Korean club FC Anyang, Berry returned to his hometown to play for the newly formed club FC Cincinnati in the lower division United Soccer League. He served as FC Cincinnati's team captain for two seasons before retiring from his playing career and accepting a position as the club's strength and conditioning coach.

Dayton Dynamo were an outdoor soccer club based in Dayton, Ohio. The club was originally established in Cincinnati, Ohio, by David Satterwhite. In 2017, Satterwhite sold the club to Cincinnati sports investor Jared Davis who immediately paused operations before dissolving the organization in 2019 after a yearlong playing hiatus. They last participated in the National Premier Soccer League in the fourth tier of American soccer in 2017.
