Christopher Eugene Respress is former indoor American football defensive back. He played football and also ran track & field collegiately at Defiance College.

Chris was a graduate of Meadowdale High School in Dayton, Ohio. He excelled in both football and track & field.

College career

Chris attended Defiance College, an NCAA Division III institution in Defiance, Ohio. He was a standout member of both the football and track & field teams.

Professional career

Miami Valley Silverbacks

In 2007, Respress quickly jumped at the opportunity to try out for the localindoor football team, the Miami Valley Silverbacks. He made the team and played 3 seasons for them starting as a cornerback, and occasionally returning kicks. He helped the team to their first ever playoff berth. [3] In 2008, he had 47 tackles and 5 interceptions. [4] [5]

Cincinnati Commandos

In 2010, Respress left the more local Silverbacks, to join the newly founded Cincinnati Commandos. He contributed 16.5 tackles and three interceptions while starting in a defensive backfield that proved to be the league's best, en route to CIFL Championship Game victory. [6]

Dayton Silverbacks

In 2011, he returned to the Silverbacks, as the team relocated to Dayton. Respress went on to have quite possibly the best season of his indoor football career posting 18.5 tackles, one sack and eight interceptions while leading the Silverbacks to an appearance in the CIFL Playoffs. He was named the 2011 CIFL Defensive Player of the Year, [7] while playing for Defensive Coordinator, Lorenzo Styles. [8] [9]

The 2012 Port Huron Patriots season is the first season for the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) franchise. After the disappointing end to the Port Huron Predators season in 2011, Dave and Cyndi Kinsman wanted to bring back a team to Port Huron in 2012 and the future. Kinsman stated, "We are aware of the history of teams in this city and the bottom line is that you have to win on and off the field to make this succeed. Other teams could win on the field, but couldn't win off the field meaning they didn't have the front office and leadership it takes to succeed. We are confident in the direction this franchise will head and we are thrilled to be in Port Huron." The team announced that they would be playing at McMorran Arena. In early September 2011, the Patriots signed former Pradators head coach John Forti, as well as re-signed local players who had played for the Predators. On December 24, 2011 the team announced its training camp roster.

The 2009 Miami Valley Silverbacks season was the fourth season for the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) franchise. The Silverbacks planned on sitting out the 2009 CIFL season, but due to the West Virginia Wild getting suspended from the league, the CIFL offered for the Silverbacks to take the place of the Wild. They had been scheduled to play a 12-game season, primarily as a traveling team, only playing two home games at Hobart Arena, but two of their road games were cancelled. The team hired Derrick Shepard, a former NFL and Arena Football League defensive tackle, to coach the team. On April 14, the Silverbacks announced that a majority of their remaining 2009 season games were to be broadcast live online for free on MCP-TV at www.miamicountypost.com. Professional sports announcer JT Szabo provided the play-by-play. The team finished with a franchise-worst record of 0–10, failing to make the playoffs for the third straight season.

Derrick Crawford is a former American indoor football defensive lineman. He has most recently played for the Cincinnati Commandos of the Continental Indoor Football League. He attended Avon Park High School in Avon Park, Florida, where he was a standout at tight end being named the 1997 Florida District 12 3A Player of the Year. After a junior college career at Trinity Valley Community College, Crawford attended Texas A&M University-Commerce where he was a standout on defense, twice being named to All-Lone Star Conference Teams and named the conference's Defensive Lineman of the Year in 2003.

Derrick L. Shepard is a former American arena and indoor football defensive lineman. Shepard grew up in Dayton, Ohio, and attended Meadowdale High School. His football ability earned him a scholarship to Georgia Tech, where he participated in football for four years.
