Chris Roe (born 14 January 1975) is an Australian broadcaster and journalist.

Career history

With a background as a radio announcer at Outback Radio 2WEB, Rural Press and DMG radio, Roe has spent the last 12 years in television working as a producer and presenter in news and sport. [1]

After starting in television at Fox Sports, Roe joined Sky News in 2004 as a sports producer and presenter. [1] Roe anchored weekend news since 2006 and regularly filled in on news programs across the week. He exited SKY News in 2013. [2]

Roe moved to NITV after leaving Sky. [3] As of January 2020, he was executive producer for NITV's The Point. [4]

At the 2018 Kennedy Awards for Excellence in Journalism, Chris Roe and Karla Grant won the John Newfong Award for Outstanding Indigenous Affairs Reporting for their work at NITV. [5]

Study

Roe completed a Bachelor of Arts in communications at Charles Sturt University in Bathurst [1] and is currently undertaking a Master of Arts in ancient history at Macquarie University Sydney.[ needs update ]

Stan Grant is an Australian journalist and writer, having worked as a television news and political journalist and presenter since the 1990s. As of July 2020, Grant is also a Senior Fellow at the Australian Department of Defence, multiple government and Defence Industry funded Australian Strategic Policy Institute. As of 2021, he is the Charles Sturt University vice-chancellor's chair of Australian/Indigenous Belonging. He is known for his writing on Indigenous issues and has written and spoken extensively on his Aboriginal identity as a Wiradjuri man.

The Marngrook Footy Show was a sport panel show broadcast in Australia focusing on Australian rules football and aimed at Indigenous viewers. Debuting on television in 2007 after 10 years on radio, the show first aired on NITV and on Channel 31 Melbourne, moving to ABC2 during 2011 and 2012 before moving back to NITV. The show was cancelled in October 2019, replaced by Yokayi Footy in March 2020.

The company is behind shows like Sky's FYI, Hope Works for Disney and Sky, and episodes of CBBC's My Life.
