Chris Spencer is the vocalist and guitarist of the noise rock band Unsane, based in New York City. [1] He also was vocalist and guitarist of the band The Cutthroats 9, when he moved to California after Unsane went on hiatus in 2000. [2] He recently formed the sludge metal band Celan, along with composer/keyboardist Ari Benjamin Meyers. [3]
Unsane is an American noise rock trio from New York City, formed in 1988. The band's music incorporates elements of hardcore punk and metal. Patrick Kennedy of Allmusic wrote, "while developing the blueprint for noise-metal bands to follow, Unsane cut a remarkable swath through underground music, inspiring a devoted, cult-like following around the world."

Nathan Jonas "Joey" Jordison was an American musician. He was the original drummer of the heavy metal band Slipknot, in which he was designated #1, and the guitarist for the horror punk supergroup Murderdolls.

Vincent Signorelli is a drummer from New York City. He has played primarily with Swans, Unsane, and Foetus. Additionally, he has done session work with Lubricated Goat, Of Cabbages and Kings, and the slo-core band Idaho. Concurrent with his involvement in Unsane, Signorelli runs a tattoo shop in New York called True Blue located in Queens on Fresh Pond Road.
Algis Antanas Kizys is a New York City bass guitarist best known for his long-time membership in New York City band Swans. First joining Swans on 1986's Greed LP, he stayed with the group through The Great Annihilator (1995). He is also a founding member of Of Cabbages and Kings, an offshoot of Bag People.
The Cutthroats 9 is a band formed by Chris Spencer of Unsane when he moved to California. Their first album was called The Cutthroats 9 and also came out on Man's Ruin. The lineup for this recording featured Spencer on guitar/vocals, Unsane bassist Dave Curran, plus Mark Laramie and Will Carroll on guitar and drums respectively. They followed it up with a six song EP that came out on Reptilian Records with Chris (guitar), Mark (bass) and Will (drums). The band toured heavily in 2001/2002, with Tony Baumeister replacing Laramie on bass in early 2002. Touring became infrequent after Unsane reunited in 2003, but a few tours followed over the next several years. In 2014, Chris, Will and Tony reconvened to record "Dissent," their first album in 13 years, released on Lamb Unlimited Records, and later Reptilian Records. More sporadic touring followed, but the band appears to be inactive at the moment.
Jörgen Sandström is a Swedish musician. He provided vocals, bass and guitar for Grave on their first three albums and played with Entombed, on bass and backing vocals, between 1995 and 2004. He has also been involved with bands such as Krux, Vicious Art, The Project Hate MCMXCIX and Torture Division. He also did guest vocals on Nasum's Helvete and on Death Breath's Stinking up the Night.

David Peters is an American musician. He was the original guitarist for the metal band Eighteen Visions, guitarist for Throwdown, and, since 2002, the vocalist for Throwdown. He also provided guest vocals for the song "Unleash" by Soulfly, "Feel as Though You Could" by Demon Hunter, and "Despair" by Living Sacrifice. He follows a straight edge lifestyle.
Frode Glesnes is one of the founders of the Norwegian Viking metal band Einherjer. He started as guitarist/vocalist, but decided to concentrate on the guitar duties. He did the lead vocals on Einherjer's last album, Blot. He started a new band with the other Einherjer members called Battered. He did the lead vocals on their first demo recording, but they chose a new singer. He also had a couple of projects with Einherjer drummer Gerhard Storesund called Angelgrinder and Beelzebub.
Neil Kevin Hennessy is a punk rock musician, music producer and engineer from Chicago, Illinois.
Brian McMahan is an American musician from Louisville, Kentucky. He was a guitarist and vocalist in the seminal rock bands Squirrel Bait and Slint. After the breakup of the latter in November 1990, he went on to play with Will Oldham on his project Palace Brothers. In 1994, McMahan formed The For Carnation which acted as a creative outlet; he remains the only permanent member of the band. He was also part of King Kong, a band formed by original Slint bassist Ethan Buckler. McMahan plays guitar on the song "Why I'm So Unhappy" by Dntel.
Barry Sparks is an American rock bassist and guitarist for artists such as Yngwie Malmsteen, the Michael Schenker Group, UFO, Dokken, and Ted Nugent, among others. Currently Sparks is part of the touring band for the Japanese rock group B'z, and has also contributed to many of their albums and singles.

Andrew Frederick Silvester is a British bassist and multi-instrumentalist. Silvester has played in various bands during his career, most notably as co-founder of both Chicken Shack and Big Town Playboys as well as a tenure in the British blues band Savoy Brown and Los Angeles based soft rock ensemble, Big Wha-Koo. He has also performed with Martha Veléz, the Steve Gibbons Band, ex-Fleetwood Mac guitarist Danny Kirwan, Savoy Brown vocalist Chris Youlden and The Honeydrippers.
Jonathan Alan Syverson is an American musician and songwriter, best known as the drummer of the rock band Daughters since 2002. He has also handled drumming duties for As the Sun Sets and The Color of Violence, and more recently Unsane. Recently Jon also joined up with another Providence band called Snowbird. Snowbird has Jon on drums along with Steve Murphy.
James Preston Pennington is an American musician, known primarily as the guitarist and co-lead vocalist of the country pop band Exile. Pennington was one of the early members and one of the lead singers of the group until departing in 1989, though he would later reform the band in 1995, before reuniting the mid-80's country lineup in 2008. After leaving Exile, he signed to MCA Records as a solo artist. There, he released three singles and one album, Whatever It Takes, in 1991. Pennington re-established the band in 1995, together with guitarist Les Taylor.
Charlie Ondras was an American drummer from New York and a founding member of the noise rock band Unsane, formerly Lawn-Chair-Blisters. He also collaborated with Jon Spencer and Cristina Martinez under the name Boss Hog and appeared on the band's first two releases. Ondras died of a heroin overdose while attending the 1992 New Music Seminar in New York.
