Christopher P. Sperry is a former American college baseball coach, formerly the head coach of the Portland Pilots baseball team from 1998 to 2015. [1] [2] [3]

Sperry played four seasons at Portland as an infielder and catcher, earning All-Pac-10 honors in 1987 and helping the Pilots to the Conference Tournament title in 1989. He played a single season in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization. He later served as an assistant coach at A.C. Davis High School in Yakima, Washington from 1993 through 1995, while also assisting area American Legion Baseball teams. Sperry became an assistant at Centralia, serving for two seasons, and was the head coach of the 1997 Oregon team at the Olympic Trials. He earned a spot as top assistant at Portland State in September 1997, but left before seeing a game played to become head coach at Portland. He held the position for 18 seasons before the school fired him at the end of the 2015 season. [1] [2]

Mike Riley American football coach

Michael Joseph Riley is an American football coach who is the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Seattle Dragons of the XFL. He has previously served as the head coach of two college football programs: Oregon State and Nebraska (2015–2017). Mark Speckman American football player and coach

Mark Joseph Speckman is an American gridiron football coach and former player. He is the assistant head coach and running backs coach at the University of California, Davis, a position he has held since 2017. Speckman served as the head football coach at Willamette University from 1998 to 2011 and at Menlo College in 2012. As coach of the Willamette Bearcats, he led his team to three playoff berths at the NCAA Division III level. He was the running backs coach of the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL) in 2013 and 2014 and the offensive coordinator at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin from 2015 to 2016. A California native, he was born without hands and played football at the college level. Speckman also works as a motivational speaker.

Darren Sawatzky American soccer player-coach

Darren Sawatzky is an American soccer coach and former player who is currently the head coach of the Richmond Kickers in USL League One. He spent four seasons in Major League Soccer, one season in the Major Indoor Soccer League, one in USISL and five in the United Soccer Leagues. He currently holds several coaching positions at the high school, collegiate and professional levels and was the Director of Youth Development for Seattle Sounders FC of Major League Soccer. Beatty was formerly a professional football player in the Canadian Football League and a former school-record holder at East Tennessee State University as a wide receiver.

Mel Krause was an American college baseball coach and player at the University of Oregon. He also played professional baseball in the Northwest League. Krause also played college basketball for Oregon and coached two different high school basketball teams to Oregon state basketball championships. Prior to its planned reinstatement in 2009, Krause was the last Ducks baseball coach when the university canceled the sport in 1981.

The Portland Colts were a minor league baseball team based in Portland, Oregon for five seasons in the Class B Northwestern League. The Colts served as an unofficial farm team for the Portland Beavers and the Cleveland Indians. The Colts and Beavers shared Vaughn Street Park. The franchise was established in 1909 by William Wallace McCredie, who was the owner of the Beavers and a sitting Congressman. The team was disbanded after their first season, with McCredie selling several players to the Beavers. McCredie originally said he did not want to run two teams, but changed his mind in 1911 when he placed a bid for a Northwestern League franchise. The league penalized McCredie with a US$1,000 re-entry fee and adopted new rules when it came to selling players from your team.

Chris Finwood is an American college baseball coach, currently serving as head coach of the Old Dominion Monarchs baseball team. He was named to that position prior to the 2012 season. Finwood has coached 61 players who were selected in the MLB Players Draft including 3 major leaguers.

Justin Monahan is a professional American football wide receiver who is currently a free agent. He attended Portland State University and played for the school's NCAA Division I football team. Statistically, 2011 was Monahan's best season at Portland State, catching 52 passes for 707 yards and six touchdowns. He was an All-Big Sky Conference Honorable Mention that season. Over his three-year career with the Vikings, Monahan had 112 receptions for 1,579 yards and six touchdowns.

The 2015 NCAA Division I baseball season, play of college baseball in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level, began in February 2015. The season progressed through the regular season, many conference tournaments and championship series, and concluded with the 2015 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament and 2015 College World Series. The College World Series, consisting of the eight remaining teams in the NCAA Tournament and held annually in Omaha, Nebraska at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha, ended on June 24, 2015 with the final game of the best-of-three championship series between Vanderbilt and Virginia, won by Virginia.
