Chris Tye

Chris Tye is an English singer-songwriter born in Nuneaton, now based in Birmingham, who took part in the BBC Music Live in Birmingham Event in 2015, hosted by Jo Whiley. [1]

His first album Somewhere Down The Line was released in 2006 with the artwork being designed by Cally Callomon. [2]

In 2011, he released Matchbox Stand which he recorded in Brighton with Tim Bidwell (Kate Walsh). [3]

Since 2006 he has played support to a number of acts including Amy Winehouse, Fionn Regan, Joan As Police Woman, Bic Runga, Teddy Thompson, Stephen Fretwell, Robert Post and Ben Thomson.[ citation needed ]

In 2009, he participated in the Project X Presents event Xhibition.

Chris Tye appeared at The Big Session Festival in June 2012 [4]

The album Paper Grenande was released in 2014 and was being part funded through Pledge [5]

Orbital (band)

Orbital are an English electronic dance music duo from Sevenoaks, Kent, England, consisting of brothers Phil and Paul Hartnoll. The band's name is taken from Greater London's orbital motorway, the M25, which was central to the early rave scene and party network in the South East during the early days of acid house. In addition, the cover art on three of their albums shows stylised atomic orbitals. Orbital have been both critically and commercially successful and known particularly for their element of live improvisation during shows. They were initially influenced by early electro and punk rock.

Simply Red English soul band

Simply Red is a British soul and pop band which formed in Manchester in 1985. The lead vocalist of the band is singer and songwriter Mick Hucknall, who, by the time the band initially disbanded in 2010, was the only original member left. Since the release of their debut studio album Picture Book (1985), they have had ten songs reach top 10 in the UK Singles Chart, including "Holding Back the Years" and "If You Don't Know Me by Now", both of which reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100. They have had five number one albums in the UK, with their 1991 album, Stars, being one of the best-selling albums in UK chart history.

Feeder (band) Welsh indie rock band

Feeder are a Welsh indie rock band formed in Newport in 1994. The band have released 10 studio albums, 12 compilations, four EPs, and 40 singles. They have spent a total of 183 weeks on the singles and albums charts combined as of 2019, while accumulating 25 top 75 singles between 1997 and 2012. At their peak of commercial success, Feeder won two Kerrang! Awards in 2001 and 2003 and were inducted into their Hall of Fame in August 2019.

Dave Swarbrick English musician

David Cyril Eric Swarbrick was an English folk musician and singer-songwriter. He has been described by Ashley Hutchings as "the most influential [British] fiddle player bar none" and his style has been copied or developed by almost every British and many world folk violin players who have followed him. He was one of the most highly regarded musicians produced by the second British folk revival, contributing to some of the most important groups and projects of the 1960s, and he became a much sought-after session musician, which led him throughout his career to work with many of the major figures in folk and folk rock music.

Paper Aeroplanes

Paper Aeroplanes were a Welsh alternative pop band founded in 2009 by Sarah Howells and Richard Llewellyn, although both members had played together since 2005. The band built up a fanbase through gigging in Cardiff in their early years, before later touring UK-wide and across Europe.

"Matchbox" is a song written and recorded by Carl Perkins and released in 1957. Blind Lemon Jefferson wrote and recorded a song entitled "Match Box Blues" in 1927, which is musically different but which contains some lyric phrases in common.

Flipron are an English psychedelic pop band from Glastonbury, England, consisting of singer and songwriter Jesse Budd, pianist/organist Joe Atkinson, drummer Mike Chitty and bassist Tom Granville. They were signed to Tiny Dog Records in 2003.Their music has been likened to Tom Waits, Syd Barrett and The Kinks.

Baddies were a British high energy indie rock band formed in late 2007 and played through 2012. Baddies with Attitude BBC Introducing included them on their BBC Introducing stage at One Big Weekend as tipped by BBC Essex Introducing. They are set to support other BBC Introducing acts such as Marina & the Diamonds, Temper Trap, Little Commets & Master Shortie. In May 2009 BBC Essex Introducing further backed the act in the form of a live session and Glastonbury Festival announced that they would be playing on the John Peel stage.

Eureka Machines

Eureka Machines are a British pop rock band based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, who formed in 2007. The band consists of Chris Catalyst on lead vocals & guitar, Davros on guitar & backing vocals, Pete Human on bass guitar & backing vocals and Wayne Insane on drums. Described as "power pop" by The Sun and Classic Rock magazine, they are something of a cottage industry, putting out their own records and being self-managing and self-promoting while also touring and gaining press coverage and airplay at a national level.

Heritage Orchestra

TheHeritage Orchestra is a British orchestra founded by Chris Wheeler and Jules Buckley. They perform mainstream, cult, experimental and popular music. The orchestra, which ranges between 25 and 65 members, has performed internationally in venues such as the Sydney Opera House, Emirates Palace, and Hollywood Bowl, and tours throughout the UK to major concert halls and large-scale arenas, including The O2 Arena in London.

The Shires (duo) British country music duo

The Shires are a British country duo composed of singer-songwriters Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes. Earle sings vocals, plays piano and guitar, and Rhodes shares lead vocals. The duo formed in 2013 and released their debut album Brave in 2015, becoming the first UK country act to chart in the Top 10 of the UK Albums Chart. BBC Music Awards

The BBC Music Awards are the BBC's annual pop music awards, held every December, as a celebration of the musical achievements over the past twelve months. The event is coordinated by the BBC's music division, BBC Music. An awards ceremony took place for the first three years which were broadcast live on BBC One.

Teleman are an English indie pop band formed in London in 2011. The group consists of Thomas Sanders, Pete Cattermoul (bass) and Hiro Amamiya (drums).
