Christian Themba Msimang is a South African politician who served as a Member of the National Assembly from May 2009 until May 2014,from August 2014 to November 2017 and again from May 2019 to May 2024. Msimang is a member of the Inkatha Freedom Party.
Msimang served as the deputy secretary-general of the Inkatha Freedom Party during the early-2000s. [1]
Msimang was nominated to the National Assembly in the aftermath of the 2009 general election and was sworn in as a Member of Parliament on 6 May 2009. [2]
He was placed low on the party's candidate list for the 2014 general election. As a consequence,he did not return to Parliament after the election. MP Mario Oriani-Ambrosini died on 16 August 2014 and the party appointed Msimang as his successor. He was sworn in on 23 August and later retired as an MP on 1 November 2017. [3]
He returned to Parliament following the 2019 general election. [4] He was not placed on any IFP candidate list for the 2024 general election and left parliament as a result.
The Inkatha Freedom Party is a conservative political party in South Africa. Although registered as a national party,it has had only minor electoral success outside its home province of KwaZulu-Natal. Mangosuthu Buthelezi,who served as chief minister of KwaZulu during the Apartheid period,founded the party in 1975 and led it until 2019. He was succeeded as party president in 2019 by Velenkosini Hlabisa.

He is the party's parliamentary leader. He previously served as the Secretary-General of the IFP from 2011 to 2017,as the Mayor of the Big Five Hlabisa Local Municipality from 2016 to 2019 and as the Leader of the Opposition in the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature between 2019 and 2023.

Simo Ezra Mfayela was a South African politician from KwaZulu-Natal who served as a permanent delegate to the National Council of Provinces from May 2019 until his death. He was the sole permanent representative of the Inkatha Freedom Party and the deputy provincial chairperson of the party. Mfayela was the son of the former senator Dingizwe Phineas Mfayela.

A founding member and former chairperson of the Inkatha Freedom Party,Mtshali was also national Minister of Arts,Culture,Science and Technology in the government of President Nelson Mandela from 1996 to 1999.
Constance Ntombikayise Zerish Zikalala was a South African politician who represented the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) in the National Assembly from 2004 to 2014. A teacher by profession,she entered politics during apartheid through the government of the Kwazulu homeland. She was active in the IFP Women's Brigade and served on the party's National Council.
